So I'm slowly beginning to delve further into the wonderful world of anime, exploring all of its wonders and variations and constantly asking my friends for recommendations. I still haven't quite figured out what styles of anime I enjoy but I'm sure I'll figure that out eventually. Currently I only own about 5 different manga series and 6 anime series, but I'm always looking to expand my collection! ^.=.^
Initially I never really understood the fascination with anime until my friends in college started to open me up to certain manga series and anime series. It was only recently that I began to dig further into it and discover more, and I'm honestly happy that I have cause there's tons of awesome anime/manga that is worth sharing.

Anyway, the purpose of this thread is to share your knowledge of anime with everyone.
Feel free to post pictures of your collection or make recommendations on anime/manga to look out for. Tell others how you got into anime and don't be afraid to ask questions!

My roommate suggested that one as well.

    Hunter x Hunter
has the best anime transformation ever. The start and end of the transformation is not so great but everything in between is awesome
Made by the guy whom created Yu-Yu Hakusho. A very nice system of "magic" (for lack of better term). Each story arc is summed up quite nicely. Not all good guys make it out. This learned by the audience and the main protagonist.

So many good things. Definitely worth a look.

I just discovered a very beautiful and amazing manga called The Ancient Magus' Bride and I am absolutely in love with this manga.
The plot is very well developed and the character development is awesome. It has a perfect balance of romance and mystic wonder that I highly recommend people check out.

If anybody is stuck on what to start with, usually a anime from a videogame is good to start with such as Dangan Ronpa and Persona 4 (or was it 3? I can't rememeber).

I'm not watching much at the moment but I usually try to update my list but I haven't sat down in a while and watched anything, I'm even forgetting to watch Dagan Ronpa as well but I'm on a Netflix roll at the moment with their original series.

If you like mech anime, Aldnoah Zero is a good twist on the typical formula.

I'd recommend Re:Zero it's currently airing but it's final episode is on Sunday, so if you like to marathon a series, go for it!

I too have heard that Re:Zero was good from a coworker whom I've connected with through anime and manga, I really need to look into it.

As for my current new addition to my collection, I managed to nab the first 3 volumes of Blue Exorcist for a really good price from a local record store that sells much more than records and music.

Only got through volume 1 but so far I'm absolutely loving this series and have a lot of other series that I have my eyes set on.

Finished Durra and was pretty impressed. Might go back and get that Death Parade done while getting back on the current season of anime sometime.

Started watching Yuri on Ice when I was over a friend's house on Wednesday and it was so good and better advertised that Free! in my personal opinion. I did watch Free! a while ago but I couldn't take it seriously as I used to competitively swim as well (I haven't recently due to personal body reasons) and I ended up finding it funny and hilariously over the top to pay attention to it in the fullest intention.

Back to Yuri on Ice, I'm really liking it and since it's based on figure skating, I find it fascinating to watch alongside the good musical numbers and the connection between both Victor, the coach, and Yuri, the ice skater. I really adore and love every one of the main male characters, even the blonde one <3
Then afterwards, one of my friends questioned me on if I was bisexual or not as I think I was acting very emotional about the male characters to the point I made them question it aha. I told them yes, that I was and we had a giggle whilst watching GiggUK's Fall Anime 2016 thingy (I can't remember the full title of the video).

That's always a fun thing to be able to geek over anime with friends.
I actually did that last night, had a friend come over for drinks and we spent a good 3-4 hours just talking about mostly anime and manga that we were into and sharing names of series for both of us to watch.

I agree it's always fun to geek out with friends. Sadly i have one friend that likes anime in my neck of the woods and sadly our schedules keep us from hanging out when it's possible.

So my buddy introduced me to this beautiful series called Deadman Wonderland, and I'm super excited about it. It looks like my kind of scene, all sorts of action and suspense. :D
