The idea is to design the interior for a haunted house, where the player's goal is to decorate the house in such a way as to attain levels, attract guests, and gain points in order to make their haunted house the best.
- Building mode would be in a top-down camera view, with the objects and interior partially 2D and partially 3D visually. The store would only be available during this mode of the game. Objects offered in the store would include various decorations, building layouts and design (interior and exterior), and pre-made rooms that are empty or already have a few objects in them. Advertisements that would bring more guests to the player's haunted house would also be available for purchase in the store. Higher level items that give the most in-game advantage would be locked until certain levels or point totals are reached. Some rare objects would also be able to be found in-game, with the drop percentage increasing by a marginal percentage they higher a player's level is.
- After building the room to the player's satisfaction, the option to "playback" the room becomes available. The building mode (along with the store) would close and would either remain in top-down view or go into a free camera mode, where the player could maneuver the camera to watch certain areas of the house. Points and in-game currency would be earned during this "playback" mode, as the guests react to the objects and difficulty of the house.
- Points and cash earned in "playback" mode would be able to be used in the store to purchase new decorations, layouts, or advertisements to increase the quality of the player's haunted house. There are two types of points that can be earned: Fear points and popularity points. Fear points are earned by decorations bought in the store or found in the game as well as difficulty for guests to get out of the house, and popularity points are earned off a portion of total fear points as well as the total number of guests who visit the haunted house.
- Experience points would not be used to earn levels; instead, levels are determined by a combination of popularity and fear points earned by the player, with popularity points being the biggest impact on level gain.
- Items or rooms a player no longer wants or needs can be removed by one of three ways: demolishing, selling, or crafting. Demolishing would take away all of the points earned by the object, selling would give the player cash and take half of the earned points away, and crafting helps make high quality items with no negative impact on already earned points. Crafting is only available at higher player levels. Lost points do not affect the player's level.
