Yep! I've decided to try out a 3D mold of my model instead of molding the actual 3D print.
Good news is that means highly accurate and detailled reproductions, a very durable mold, and no chance of the silicone bonding to the mold. Bad news is it won't be ready to go until early January as there's some 3D work to be done, plus the print itself is estimated as taking 240 hours, and the process is going to be a bit expensive for me. T-T

However, I'l hopefully have a mini version available a bit sooner, and depending on the size/interest I may do a few casts of that prior to the full size.

As a warning, It'll be harder to remove printer texture from in the mold

The benefit of 3d printing the model is that you can sand and smooth it down before making the mold (glove mold recommended to use less material and for a seamless product)

If you 3D a one piece mold, you won't be able to reach in to smooth it out to reduce the printer texture, and if the toys you're casting have overhang, it might be really difficult getting the toys out of the mold or they might get damaged in the process

If you're doing a 2 piece 3d printed mold, you can atleast do some smoothing out, but then you're going to have seam lines

Yep yep, I'm aware of that. We'll have to see how it comes out!
Part of the increase in expense on my part is because it is being printed at a very high resolution with higher quality materials, which should eliminate a lot of the printer texture. Also there will be a mini mold made first to see if there are any significant issues.
The mini model (not the mold) that was printed came out with almost no printer texture to it, and it was done at a lower quality, so I'm hopeful that the mold will come out with negligible texture.

    New dual shafted model!
Not super sure about this guy right now; feedback appreciated!

It was mentioned that it reminded someone of the "Sharkdog" model, which I haven't been able to find any good references of. If you have one or have some archived pics or something please let me know! Also, if you're familiar with the model, let me know if you think it's too similar or if you have any suggestions about differentiating it!

For anyone interested, I've finally gotten my Etsy store up and running (https://www.etsy.com/shop/HodgepodgeCompendium)!
It's a work in progress and for the time being will only feature ready-made stock.

I'm hoping to have some mini- and medium-sized Qilin's up by the end of January; let me know if there are any color requests/suggestions!

I know a while back, I looked through a collected list of a ton of different fantasy dual-shafted toys, and don't remember any that closely resembled yours, hmm! (Only simularities I could think of are the fact it's a dual shafted fantasy dong lol)

The two sharks I remember are bad dragon's bruce (shark), and a krows nest's faust (shark mix)

That's good to hear! I loooove the idea of a dual shafted toy, both for internal and external use, but unfortunately I've yet to find a model that worked for me personally, so I tried to make something a bit different. I'm also toying with a psuedo dual-shafted model that has one primary shaft and some prominent nubs/ridges/tentacle type things? Aimed at a lot of external stimulation at front and back, but not so much on the sides.

Ah, also, rosey eggs, suggested by a forum-goer! Thinking of doing little mini sets of three (quail egg sized) and possibly another larger size (closer to goose egg).

    Couple of updates.
Qilin is in the process of printing. Barring any catastrophic issues, it should be done sometime this week! (fingers crossed). In the meantime, enjoy some character art!

Finished fiddling with the Naga model; added a few more prominent veins, changed up the scales a tinge. Now I need to figure out sizing for this monster.... Any ideas?

Lastly, a new digital model, Lotus! She's a redo a previous (poorly executed) clay model. I'll likely be fiddling with her dimensions a bit more; may make the shaft a bit longer, change the gap distance a bit, etc.

I love this so much! I agree, 10-11" thick would be ideal for me and I would absolutely buy one!

Qilin looks right up my alley! So excited for that and the artwork is beautiful! The flower eggs are a great idea and so is the lotus! I am so looking forward to seeing all your progress and work you are doing! Congrats! Btw, I know you were looking for the sharkdog from Average so here is his tumblr! It looked similar in the earlier stages but i think you have made it unique and it looks good! He has been doing alot of videos on how to make toys so I am sure his blog will help you as well! The sharkdog should be in the prices and sizes on the right!

Yes, thank you for making a mini option!
Its verry difficult for me persanoly to take anything more than a 2" Diamiter.
I know im in the minority so please dont do anthing special on my account, but know that i would probably appreachate your mini sizes.

Also what is your plan with Lotus?
In the render it looks like it will be short and stubby. Are you planing to make it a butt plug or its main purpose to tie/knot in someone?

Fwoo, it's been a while since I posted on here! Mega update inbound! : D

So, the Qilin mold is finally printed after a lot of strife (mainly due to the almost 90 degree tilt of his flared head) and is casting wonderfully! I'm hoping to have some pours done of him in 00-50 firmness sometimes before mid-February. I'll be posting exact dimensions in the near future (he's about 10.5" tall), but in the meantime, enjoy this lovely trial pour done by Liquidfoxdesigns on Furaffinity (check them out; they do lovely work!). <3

In other news, two new model molds are in the process of being printed!
The dual-shafted Naga is being printed at a total height of 7" with an approximate usable length of 6 - 6.5" on the longest shaft. Her prototype came out quite well (the final will not have all of that printer texture).

Due to some similarities to other makers' models, I've completely redone my Doppelganger model. Introducing the Changeling, his spiritual successor! Soon to be printed at about a total height of 6.5", this is going to be one girthy guy. I may have larger and smaller sizes eventually as this model seems to be particularly polarizing.

Finally, I'm currently working on a new plug model, the Owlbear! He's not yet complete, and will hopefully have a very detailed furry or feathery base. Let me know what you think!

I would love to make my own toys. I do have a 3D printer But getting any silicone is really hard. Lots of stuff with free shipping in america, But getting it here costs 3x the initial price... :(

The silicone components I purchase do not have free shipping by any means, nor is the general process or high resolution printing cheap, but I’m sure it costs less than purchasing materials internationally. There must be silicone distributors closer to your location, otherwise I doubt any of the European brands I’m familiar with would be able to make a profit. : )

The Changeling and Owlbear both look very interesting. Are there plans to potentially make those in XL sizes for those who love the girth?

I’m definitely considering it, particularly the Changeling; I’ve had quite a few inquiries about circumferences of 10”+. Before I do that though, I want to make sure that the smaller versions pour okay and that there’s enough interest to warrant additional sizes. : )

Working on a lovely, spikey open maw! I can’t quite decide if he’s done or not… I’d originally planned to add a significant bit of texture to his tongue, however, everything I tried just looked… Well, let’s just say “not good.”
Regardless, I’m quite fond of this guy! I’ve always loved the tongue models out there, but many were too long and thin for my personal tastes. So I made something a bit different. <3

I like the improvise, yes the market for tongue themed toys are very cut and dry.
Always super long and skinny xp

From a sculptors standpoint if you did add texture I would leave the bottom part of the toungue slick while the top have a very mild sand grain texture to simulate taste buds.
But looks pretty well off the way it is :)
