My psychiatrist is in big trouble for leaving her practice in town without telling me. I sent a request of records form two months ago, and she refuses to send me anything.

No one in my area trick or treats anymore :C

it's extremely disheartening, because scaring kids is like my favorite past time forever.

When I first moved to an apartment I was so sad when there were no trick-or-treaters at my door. I don't want to scare them, but I love Halloween and want to hand out candy.

rarely anyone trick or treats here anymore, mainly because there aren't many families with young kids here anymore, there are barely any streetlights and in general people are way too paranoid anymore "the candy might be poisoned! someone might try to abduct my kid! that bogus article I read links too much sugar with autism! etc." 1. teach your kids to inspect the candy and don't eat anything that's already been opened 2. actually be a fucking responsible parent and know where your kid is. 3. seriously?

also it's like 57*F outside from all the rain and I'm loving it

The most amazing thing is that people have NEVER randomly poisoned candies. Every single time it's been to target a specific kid.

    Agreed with @scalie

I think this whole safety and overprotection thing going on with parents and kids these days is ridiculous. I went to the fair today, and seriously, everything is so LAME now because everyone insists on wrapping their kids in layers of bubblewrap. I mean come on, how do they expect these kids to learn anything if they aren't allowed to experience this stuff for themselves?

I'm in a similar situation as Scalie, not a lot of families with children, everyone in this neighborhood is pretty much grown up.

In my old neighborhood, you'd be lucky if your doorbell DIDN'T ring. There were so many kids that I just left a couple bowls of candy at the end of my driveway and walked around the neighborhood.

I don't know though...when I was growing up, people were (for the most part) pretty respectful. I mean, handfuls were probably taken instead of just a piece or two, but no one ever took the whole bowl at once.

Surprisingly no, almost every kid who stopped by only took one or two pieces each. There were a couple who took a handful, but no asshats who dumped the whole thing in their bag.

Back when I was in boyscouts there was this kid who's parents would flip their shit and pull him out of an activity if he even stubbed a toe. poor kid, because he never got to do anything he didn't learn how to do it the right way, so on outings he would always end up getting hurt or sick or losing his stuff because he never had to learn how to do stuff on his own and do it safely.

hello! got tired of how slow and dead the "official" BD forums were, so I'm here now. I might restart the sharp objects thread and a thread for crafts and stuff. hopefully there aren't stupid "NO NECROING EVEN IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING IMPORTANT/VALID TO SAY!" rules here
