I would just like to announce that I misread the title of this thread and thought it said "foot thread" and was titillated at the idea of a thread full of feet. Alas :p

That looks so delicious. I love Italian cuisine. I wish I had the time and patience to make food like that. It's either already made or microwave food for me. :b

This is a plight! I have very little motivation to cook well for myself, but will do my absolute best for others.

People say cooking is their passion, not me. Sure i love the creativity and intricacy of it, but my passion is feeding people.

Oh my god @Reptile are you a gourmet chef or something? Those meals look delicious.

I cooked for the first time in WEEKS. Was being fed practically the entire time I was in the US and when I got home I hit a low where I just could not bring myself to do much at all.
Made a simple spaghetti dish tonight packed with capsicum (bell pepper?), carrot and zucchini. I didn't have much to work with but it ended up tasting pretty bomb. I do enjoy cooking. Especially when there's no time constraints or I'm not feeling like I have to impress anyone. I DO enjoy serving to others though but more as a surprise, and on my terms and preferences, not on their demand.

    ---

Adding to this because I just remembered something. About 3 years ago I made bruchetta (cant spell) steak. The ingredients all up costed well over $60 aud, and this was for 2 people. It involved cooking some scotch fillet steaks, and then soaking some turkish bread on the pan juices which were then grilled to crisp up.
It was then covered with some djon mustard, watercress, stilton cheese crumble and balsamic glaze, as well as the steak.
In my opinion it tasted delicious and I put alot of hard work into it as it took a while to get it all nice and to cook the steaks. But all I remember is my boyfriend at the time being a total ASS and whining about how weird it looked and how he wanted 'normal food', not caring that I really was trying to do something nice and I actually specifically chose that recipe for him since he liked steak. STINKER.
It put me off for a while, but lately I've found more joy in just doing it for myself.

    You're too modest :p
But seriously, I rarely see people put that level of effort into presentation. Good stuff.
