    Hi,
My Scorn, which I have had and loved for many years, has developed dark spots along the rim of his suction cup. I didn't get a good picture, but hopefully this helps

I've tried a few times washing with hot soapy water and my fingers but got nothing. I don't want to use something abrasive and damage him... I know this is my fault for being an irresponsible owner, but any advice would be much appreciated.
    Thanks.
e; Follow up question, if that's okay.. Is this discoloration mostly harmless? It bothers me if I'm honest, but I can live with a few dark spots on the bottom of a suction cup to teach me a lesson. The rest of my toys are still pretty much mint, so I can live with it so long as it dosen't impact anything. Should I store Scorn separately to be safe, or take any other measures if I can't fix him? I will try the bleach solution as soon as I can btw, thanks jeffiroth.

BD's website recommends soaking your toy in a 10% bleach water solution for an hour for a more thorough cleaning. Haven't tried this method myself, but based off my experience with dongs and penetrables, once discoloration shows up, it's not going away. If anyone else has any more advice other than a good boil bath, I'd also like to know for future reference =]

I can't tell with the picture, but the bleach solution will take care of any germ problem there might be. It will probably stay discolored. Discoloration won't bother the toy or other toys. If you can get a clearer pic that would be helpful!

I can get a clearer pic but it will take time unfortunately, at least a few days to a week. I'll update then.

Sorry about the late post, I've been having a super hectic week. This is the best I could get, it won't focus when I try to get closer (which was the issue the first time around imo)

Did you have it stored with any other toys? Or store it in an airtight bag without being fully dry? Is it sticky or just black?

I suggest a good bleach soak (I've experimented and kept a piece of silicone in pure bleach for 2-3 days with 0 issue. I'd do a little more than 10%, but not go that far) to get rid of any bacteria/germs. It might even lighten the discoloration as well. I had stored a pure white toy on something black and ended up getting rid of 95% of the spot by repeatedly rubbing hand sanatizer into it, rinsing it off, repeating on and off for 2 days. that might help!

Oh, thanks! I have all my toys (S Nox, S Slink, M Scorn, L Chance) in a toolchest-style container (metal, with a lock. I live alone, but I don't like the idea of my landlord or anyone else happening across my dildo collection >_<). I do always try to dry them as thoroughly as possible. The black spots aren't sticky or anything, no; seems exactly the same texture as the rest of the toy. I'm going to do that bleach soak as soon as I get the chance, will report back.

E; Sorry, I must have spaced out and forgot to update! I tried a 10% bleach soak and it seemed to have a very small impact (I hope I'm not imagining things, but it seems some of the marks came off). I'll give it another go in the weekend.

got a question, and hope it isn't silly..

I know some folks do the 10% bleach solution, and some boil to sterilize..

should I use different containers/pot for each of those, or is it ok to use one pot for both boiling and bleach (not at the same time, of course)?

Just make sure that your toy and bleach pot have been cleaned thoroughly, before boiling. Bleach can become a hazardous gas when it reaches the boiling point (it can damage your lungs). Just use soap and water on the pot and toy, and rinse well. Never boil a bleach solution, that's the bottom line. Same pot or different pot, should not matter if you clean it in-between steps.

Thanks for the info..think I'll just keep the containers I use for bleaching and for sterilizing separate..best not to chance that a container I bleach in is completely safe to boil water in

Okay, I'm curious about the bleach and boil bath. How do I do both of them? Of course separately but I've never done them before.

The reason why I ask is that I plan to sell used products but would feel a lot better if I could sterilize the crap out of them before I put them up on the block. Thank you.
