I had a bunch of little Pico Bong + other brand vibrators that I got back in 2012-2014 and all of them worked perfectly fine when I first bought them. From about 2016 until now they had been in storage and I did not use them. I went to the store and bought fresh batteries and 2 of the 5 toys seem to have stopped working even with new batteries in them.

I also have two rechargeable toys - one from Lelo and one from JimmyJane and both of those work fine.

So I guess my real question is this:
    1. Do all vibrators stop working eventually?
    2. Do battery-operated vibrators break down completely sooner than rechargeable vibes?
    3. Or is this only about the price and quality of motor so expensive vibes (60-120$) just last longer than the cheaper ones (around 20$)?

Any help is much appreciated and thank you for taking the time to read this!

P.S. Upon closer inspection, I see that the 2 toys which don't work at the moment have what appears to be a little crust of battery acid in the deep end of the toy (I took tissues and wiped off the side closest to me, and as deep as I could reach with my finger and some tissues). Is it worth buying some pipe cleaners to try and rub that out of there to see if they work again or once batteries break down is that kind of a permanent destruction?

this happens will ALL electronic devices, in order to preserve the devices life span, it is HIGHLY recommended, that you "excercise" the device ever 1 - 3 months, if you dont they will kinda wither internally and cease to work.
as for storing electronic devices, never store them with batteries inside them, if you do, make sure to rotate the batteries every few weeks, just because it's not turned on. doesnt mean electricity isnt being drawn out by the springs, and heat will draw out the acid after a time.
if you have any electronics sitting around, be sure to power them on every few months and fully charge them as well or the batter will live a short life.

What he said! But also, I've had the same experience with the cheaper ones, or a cord will break loose inside. The brand 'ovo' comes with a 15yr warranty, something to consider. I bought one awhile back for around $80. Now it just sits in storage lol, guess I'm just not that into vibes

Okay thank you both very much for your replies, and I will be sure to begin exercising the battery-operated toys - that sounds like fun, actually
