Well I'm going to do my best to stop eating meat. I eat too much of it so im gonna just stop all together cheese dairy make up all of it....including drinking soft drinks (that will be hard for me)

See how that feels what a difference it will make

    I can do this...

I just wanted to say that if you've lost some weight but still aren't at your final goal, for example if you've stalled on the way there, it's still a huge accomplishment. There is nothing wrong with a "plateau" on your journey, it's a big accomplishment to lose any amount of weight and then hold steady there at that lower weight. You're establishing a "new normal" and that's a significant achievement.

It's been been a while, everyone. It has been a journey. From being 272lbs about four to five years ago, to being 240 now. I'm still struggling to lose what I have now, my goal is to lose 80lbs by March 2021. So far, this past 6th of January, I have been drinking a breakfast protein shake in the morning, a snack of a smoothie, a light lunch, and a full dinner plate about 8 inches across. Heavy on the vegetables. I have also incorporated Taco Bell into this at least one day a week. Bean and chicken burritos, chicken quesadillas. Stuff like that. Water, I am still struggling with unless I turn it into cucumber lemonade with stevia or apple cider vinegar water with stevia. The only carbonated drink I have is ginger ale by Seagram's.

The most success i ever had was the diabetes detour diet going from 175 to 113 in a matter of seven months. Im really considering doing that one again. Even if it will be by myself.

Sorry Zaphora. I can't do a bland diet. I need spices and seasonings and a regular dose of honey.

I've also decided to treat myself to the Cheesecake Factory once a month.

What are you currently doing to lose if you don’t mind me asking. I’m having a hard time myself.

I cut out all fried things and sodas and literally have an almost bland diet but I never really did have a flair for flavor either

That's a good tip - supposedly, exposure to a wide variety of tasty food makes it hard to control calories. People who eat at buffets (unlimited amounts with a big variety of tasty food) tend to eat more than they usually do. So it can be helpful to limit your variety of flavors. Otherwise, it's tempting to eat more as a way to "entertain" your taste buds, when you are always eating delicious foods. "Boring" can be good.

    I hope that made sense!

I've been hearing that "intermittent fasting" can be helpful for some people. On a very simple level, it might mean making lunch your first meal, and not eating anything after dinner. The key to weight loss is limiting total calories, and that's certainly one way to do it, especially if you don't have a lot of control over food choices (someone else does all the cooking) or if it's hard to eat small portions (you can still eat a normal portion, when you do have a meal). Worth researching?

Well the Covid19 virus going around really has limited my food options xD haha how about you guys?

But i am thankful we buy from Costco and get everything in bulk....so far I am managing to lose a little bit of weight by walking around my house cleaning....

We are 100 percent on lockdown with more than 40+ infected here....yikes

My friend told me she is having good results with Noom so far (it's an app). It's a diet plan, I think she said there's coaching, online forum, exercise plan. She lost 12 pounds and gained 3 back. She still wants to lose more, but even losing 9 pounds is good. If she can make that weight her new set point, that's an accomplishment.

It's good to have coaching, whether it's Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Noom or whatever.
