Why is the cum lube so thin?

Back when I got my first BD toy, I ordered a few bottles of the Cum Lube with it. I remember being surprised and fascinated by how it would make long strings and suck back into the bottle when you stopped squeezing.

My latest batch is like WATER. it drips, it separates in the bottle, and it doesn't lubricate at all. Why the change? And why can't I get an answer to a ticket asking about it? In fact, on PC browser, I can't even find the "Submit Ticket" function. I put one in through mobile a while ago and haven't heard anything back.

What's the date on the bottle. I had expired cum lube (not shipped expired from BD) and it was indeed like water. I've had no issues with the CL I've received recently though I recommend checking out the X Lube thread. You can make it as stringy as you want and it ends up being cheaper in the long run.

I also had this problem, however since I bought some X Lube powder I just added a tiny bit into the bottle (make sure to make space so you can shake it well) and it's perfect again.

I bought a large amount of BD lube before. I noticed it becoming watery over time after removing the plastic that prevents air from coming into the bottle.

I assume the lube loses its "sliminess" overtime and probably faster when it is in contact with air.

How do you store the lube? As far as I know it should be kept at a cool place like the fridge or at least somewhere else under 24°C (75°F). Else it degrades rather quickly. And I guess it wont be good forever after it’s been opened.

So I will thicken my lube up by taking the cap off the bottle and leaving it sit behind my laptop so the fan blows hot air on it. It's water based so it evaporates and thickens quite nicely. I can't speak on expired lube. I did order some lube in the winter months once and was very unhappy with the quality that I got. I will never order lube in the winter again.

Heating it up will affect bacterial growth etc. So be sure to quickly use it up.
