alcohol aside I'm worried about the future of mankind whenever I see shit like this:
someone fired for being "racist" for asking students to fix their broken ass grammar http://www.city-journal.org/2014/24_4_racial-microaggression.html
the crazy reaction to someone explaining why dudes usually sit with their legs slightly apart: http://tryingtomakesenseofpeople.tu...687/darqueste-grimoire-prettysoldiersailorbri
not to mention the constant psychological warfare, death threats, invasion of privacy, and constant corrosive hatred expressed on social media, especially just today over the Leelah Alcorn suicide where a bunch of people who AGREED with each other constantly tried to threaten and undermine everyone else trying to make the same point as them. people constantly being insecure assholes lashing out at everyone else for the smallest and sometimes non-existent things they heard a rumor about while making the argument of "I can be an asshole and be hateful/racist/threatening/violent/ignorant/illogical because you are on the 'wrong' (side I don't agree with) side of history" remind me of the national socialist workers party of the 1930s (nazis) or the USSR at the end of the cold war and the destruction of the berlin wall.
ex: Harvard removing the sodastream machines from their dining halls because they're produced in Israel and are "a racial microaggression" against Palestinian students.
ex2: law professors being fired from prestigious law schools and universities for trying to teach the laws surrounding rape and how to prosecute, defend, represent, and all around handle it in a legal court setting because it "makes rape okay"

this year I'm making a new years resolution to be a nice person to those that deserve it and to not even give assholes like that the time of day since having any kind of interaction with them, positive, negative, or neutral, just makes them even more assholish to everyone.

tl;dr: people are assholes, always have been, always will be, it's just more common these days

I can say as a bisexual person there are plenty of people in the LGBTQ+ community that I hope never get any position of power to speak on my or anyone else's behalf, there are extremists on every side of the fence

My house is too damn cold. The past 2 nights I've been woken up by how cold I am. Sweatpants, T-shirt, Double the blankets is the plan tonight. I really hope it works because I've hated waking up 45 minutes before my alarm and not falling back to sleep because it's too fucking cold.
Winter is only good with snow on the ground, me not having to drive, and warm clothing. All other types of weather can fuck right off. 9 degrees at 6:40 am. Go die.

    Also Alcohol is bad M'kay.

My room gets insanely cold as well, space heaters are your best friend. Just curious, 9 degrees C or F and outside or in your room?

Yeah, my room is unbearable without my space heater. After coming back from Christmas at my parents it was a brisk 39 in my room, and a stupid -28 outside.

Happy new year all! (Cept you west coasters, you still got an hour or two)

On another note... I should not get drunk around my parents... Was watching Chopped with my dad and this stunningly hot Italian chef was a contestant, and I started a sentence "wow, that guy is..." I was going to say gorgeous, but then realized that may be a bit odd to say considering my dad doesn't know Im gay, and that certainly wouldn't be the way I'd want him to figure out. I said something insulting about the contestants glasses to cover myself... But damn, close call, and hot contestant :p

eh, My room is sitting at a cozy 40 right now. And if I use my space heater, I'll trip the breaker. So no toying, and no leaving my covers lol. Mythbusters shall keep me warm with their explosions. At least in spirit lol.

I'm kinda drunk. My brother and I like different types of champagne, so we each got our own bottles and we both finished them in two hours. We watched Moonstruck first. This new years has rocked ass.
Lmao, I know someone who lives in Winnipeg. He desperately wants to not live in Winnipeg.

My room is sometimes cold but I just put more layers on. As for a space heater aren't they expensive to run? I heard they chew through electricity like no ones business.

As for the fall of the human race by their own hands due to stupidity and alcohol induced comas. I totally agree we are screwed as a species.

I don't get the heating systems over there. Do they blow hot air around then? We have water filled radiators in every room and a central boiler. Any who, my house is at a comfy 22*C. No idea what that is in Fahrenheit.

    (just remembered it's about 72f)

Boilers are usually an older style of heating. My place has central air, so there's a central furnace that blows hot air through vents all across the house.
The problem with my room is that it was part of an addition, and the ventilation is not installed properly and it's poorly insulated.
