Anime Detour/Conventions?

Anyone hitting up Anime Detour this weekend?

...Or for that matter, any other conventions this year? I have at least 5-6 on my roster so far! Not sure if a meetup would be weird or not, but it's always nice to know if anyone I vaguely know will be there!

 

Nothing vaguely interesting happens here in the UK, and I'm broke anyway.

 

Well, I'd like to go to Megaplex, but so far, nobody I know will be there.

 

Yeah the cons in the UK are rather bland and over priced for what they are. Need to find a super cool one to meet forum peeps at.

 

I just reserved a room for Megaplex like 2 days ago.

I'll be headed to MTAC this weekend in Nashville.

 

I'm thinking about going to Furry Weekend Atlanta.... I will just sleep in my car and shower at my gym. Yay multiple Planet Fitness locations! I'm coming from Cincinnati. If anyone wants to carpool I wouldn't mind picking you up if you pitch in for gas. :3 @Robert Thompson, @Abylgan, @DameKathryn, @Akanisen? You could also nap in my car, if you're a cheapskate like me! I've never been to a furry con. I'm mostly wanting to go to see EE and BD. Maybe a couple of my favorite suiters.

I'm assuming a certain forum member is going since they live right there, however due to the fact that they ignore me (for no reason) they wouldn't confirm if I asked. Ahem.

 

I'll be at Anime North and Atomic Lollipop (both in Ontario) this year. Got tickets and hotel plans already firmly set~

I'm going to a smaller, semi-local fur con this year. It'll be my first furcon. No idea what I'm gonna do there...

 

If they have panels, those are always a safe bet :3

 

Not exactly the same as a convention, but traveling to music fests and concerts are my thing... I'll be catching Umphreys McGee For three nights in Mineapolis on April 23-25, and I'll be at Fare Thee Well in Chicago July 4th weekend.

 

It's funny, when I started going to cons back in '07 all I did was go to panels (and cosplay). In '09 I started running panels. Now? lol I don't even pay attention to the schedule..... I go to hang with friends and sometimes see specific dealers/panelists so I can chat with them. It's so odd how priorities change!
I calculated gas to go to Atlanta and it's going to be $70 round trip. I REALLY want to go but I know I will just buy a car load of toys I don't need from EE and BD lol. Unless I can find carpool buddies it's a no go.

 

ACEN for me in May and Probably INDY Pop-Con so far. I don't know whats else is around so anything in the Midwest that is reasonable driving and i get catch a hotel or even hell sleep in my car i might do it. As long as i know a head of time i could either put somebody up or even go as far as doing some of the driving.
