Alright, after looking through and making sure I won't be posting any repeats...

This is like, a prime example of final boss music. It'll always be a personal favorite.

Man, this song. For those curious, it's a JRPG with turn-based combat. Nearly the entire collection of battle themes consist of ridiculous guitar playing like this. Heck, the final boss theme has two guitar solos. This one was always a favorite though, and is a good example of the kind of music you can expect to hear if you look up the rest of it.

My pokemon contribution. The colosseum series is often overlooked, which is unfortunate. Miror B is a fantabulous boss fight, a man who walks around in a purple jacket (open, no shirt) and pants a gold scarf, a gold star belt buckle a pokeball afro. He likes to dance.

Instant favorite the first time I heard it. It fits the boss fight well (which is good cause you'll be spending about a half hour fighting the bastard) and features an interesting blend of traditional eastern music with a more western orchestra.

Honestly, I just really like the vocal effects they used. The rest of the song is pretty cool too.

    More songs.

Final boss theme for two different final bosses in the second Mana Khemia game. You fight the guy featured on the left in the video's picture, and the fluffy grey thing featured in the second half of the video (yes, you actually fight the fluffy thing, and it is final boss worthy). The guy (Reicher) is ridiculously hard if it's your first time playing the game. The game is a turn based combat game, and he can attack when it's not even his turn, attack multiple times per turn, and hide the turn order. The fluffy thing summons wormholes and can switch between being completely immune to physical or magical attacks at will.

Not much to say. I just really like this one.

Apparently this opinion is unpopular, but I rather prefer the end-game boss themes in the Binding of Isaac Rebirth over the ones in the original. I find they suit the context of the game better than the originals. Also, holy shit, that musical hook at 1:36.

Off was an incredibly strange RPG. It's unlike any other game that I've played before. It's completely unhinged the majority of the time, things just don't make sense (the four element scheme in the game isn't air, fire, earth, water. It's smoke, metal, meat and plastic. Smoke is the air, and is actually mined out of actual mines. Metal is the earth, and somehow is taken from the insides of animals. Meat is a liquid, and is the only consumable product in the world. Plastic is liquid, and makes up the oceans and rivers. There's also a fifth element, but that's a secret.) I highly recommend it.

This is actually a premium arrangement of the original song that was made long after the game's release. It's probably the only time I've ever heard bag pipes used in a boss theme, or in conjunction with an ominous background choir.

I should hope so. Game music is pretty much the only music I listen to (though there are a few exceptions).
Moving away from the combat-oriented stuff for these.

The demon shaft (hur hur) was a 100 floor monster of a dungeon filled with the hardest enemies of the game. Tough enough to one shot half your party members. This song played in the background the whole time. Oddly non-threatening considering there's a floaty robot monster ready to spear you around the next corner.

Super chill theme. Easily my favorite world theme across all the kingdom hearts games (though la cloche comes a close second). I've edited it to 10 hours for personal use, put it on when I'm sleeping sometimes.

This one certainly accomplishes setting the mood for the dungeon given. Cold and mechanical. I can't help but picture creepy, obviously mechanical children whenever I hear this.

Spectrobes was honestly a great game. Think pokemon on steroids, and you actually fight alongside them. This theme plays on a literal desert planet, and it is huge. Looking off beyond the boundaries of what areas you're able to access shows an incredible expanse of seemingly endless sand. Not sure why, but I've always enjoyed desert scenery, and the themes such as this that go with them.

I don't think I've ever talked to a wind waker fan that didn't like this theme.

EDIT: How could I forget Hymn from TBOI?

I had considered putting up Waka's theme, but ultimately I tend to prefer the dungeon themes in Okami. Still have Waka on my MP3 though, both the calm theme and the battle theme.

Switching up the theme again, time for some creepy themes...

I had a pretty WTF reaction when I first encountered this boss, to say the least.

Calm, quiet, haunting. Not much more needs to be said.

Ib was an interesting game with some creepy premises. You play as the little girl featured on the right as you try to make you way out of what is essentially a haunted art gallery. The art exhibits want you dead. I would very highly reccomend this game.

Another from Off. This plays when you're in a white area, completely devoid of life save one extremely off putting enemy that can show up. I'll leave the exact details of it for people to find out for themselves, should they plan on playing it.

Fairly creepy as far as boss fights go with those odd distorted sounds in the beginning, especially considering how not-creepy the game was up till that point.

Wow, this thread freezes up my browser something awful. :D

Anyways, I've been completely entranced by Okamiden's music lately, and desperately want to find the OST somewhere, but all I can find are Youtube videos. I don't want to have to individually rip all those videos, but it seems even after the game being out for several years, a torrent of Okamiden music doesn't exist anywhere on the internet. /o\ Trust me, I looked for 2 hours.

I just find that very odd considering how well known the game is for it's amazing soundtrack,

This (my post) might fit better in the video game thread, but I have to second this. OFF is amazing.
Also, I'm another weirdo that listens to 95% video game OSTs.

Chrono Cross OST is one of my favorites. I'd love to see an HD remake of the game.

I'm more partial to battle themes myself. Not necessarily in this game, just in general.

Also, here's some more dark cloud 2 (aka dark chronicle) music, because It's an awesome game.

This features the "video that plays if you leave the title screen on for too long" music (and video), and the standard battle music after that. Some crazy shenanigans happen in this game man.

Probably my favorite theme for any given location in the game. Given that this plays in an absolutely massive industrial complex, you'll also hear the sounds of machinery in the background while playing. Personally, I like the song more with those mechanical sounds, but nobody's ever uploaded it with the sounds that I'm aware of.

This comes in a close second though. Very peaceful.

This plays as you're getting chased through town by an evil circus troupe leader and his clown henchmen. He wants your necklace.

For those fans of Kingdom hearts, here's all bloody 4 of Xemnas's fight themes.
The first fight, where you're solo against him.

The second part, here you make your way towards that big ass dragon of his, destroy the turrets and the core, and fight the first "throne" phase.

The third phase of the KH2 fight, which kind of encompasses three different themes that they didn't bother to give their own names.

And finally, the theme that plays during the battle in the most recent game, KH3DS

Fun fact, l'oscurita dell'ignoto means "darkness of the unknown", but for the final theme here they added an extra letter. The extra letter renders the word that used to mean unknown devoid of any meaning, so the title "l'oscurita dell'iggnoto" doesn't mean "darkness of the unknown", it means "Darkness of the ______" or..."Darkness of the Nothing".

I have the final Xemnas music on my ipod already. Might need to make more additions!

My submissions for today are from Darkest Dungeon, an early access title that should be fully released soon-ish. This isn't music you'd really listen to on it's own, but it sure as hell sets the mood. A grim, on edge, desperate feeling; this game's ambiance delivers. The music was one of my favorite features, right next to the art (of course the entire game is currently unfinished.)

Editing post: All the combat music in one video. I expect more once the game is finished.

been listening through the bloodborne OST for a while now. I prefer it over most of the dark souls and dark souls 2 OSTs for action music
    especially this one

a few more, but it's easier to just link to the full playlist

    also creepy music box

I'm a sucker for a good 'horror' game with some spooky violin stuff in the soundtrack, it's why I much prefer dead space 2 over 1 and 3 (3 was call of dutied beyond redemption...)

@Exeter and @Xephose I want to come over there and hug you both so bad right now. Dark Cloud and Dark Chronicle were truly beautiful games in my opinion. Masterpieces of the PS2, and yet sadly forgotten by so many....

For me, music that makes me feel the events in the game are ESSENTIAL. The pain of the hero or heroine after seeing someone they vowed to protect get cut down right in front of them, the terror of seeing a hidden enemy finally revealed, the desperation to stop the apocalypse unleashed by the antagonist, without the right music driving those emotions, it doesn't feel real, it doesn't feel RIGHT.

You've just destroyed Omega in his giant form. Nearly the entire facility that is Weil's Laboratory and base is in flaming ruins. Yet as you reach the ground, something just doesn't seem right. You realize this is where you were awakened in the first game....but right under Weil's Lab? How much of what you "know" and "remember" is even true?

The truth has been revealed. Your body is fake. Omega is in possession of your original body, free of any safeguards on it's power. With no choice left, you steel yourself for one final battle against Weil's monstrosity. It's do or die here, you have to prove to everyone including yourself that you are better, that you are everything you believe yourself to be. This track is one of the best I have ever heard when it comes to doppelganger duels and proving one's own worth to the world and themselves.

While in my opinion the scene was pretty heavy hitting, the music wasn't completely up to par, though it still brought enough emotion to bear. Dispite your best efforts, Ragnarok has been fired, eradicating much of the city of Neo Arcadia. You've managed to stop it from being fired a second time, but that barely seems to redeem the sheer death toll of the initial strike on the innocent civilians caused by Craft's blind attempt to kill Weil.

Weil has fused with Ragnarok completely, and intends to wipe out the last place capable of sustaining human or Reploid life, outside of Neo Arcadia with the claim "Fools live under my rule and my rule alone!". It might as well be the apocalypse should you fail, and you know whether you do or don't, you're going to die anyways. Might as well go out with a massive bang, and save the world and your friends while you're at it.

You may hate me now. c:
