I'm honestly not all that sure I believe people who seem to think it makes them creative or clever, but at the same time it has a different effect on everyone. Constants I've noticed from other people are a noticeable negative effect on short term memory and an inclination to be giggly. That must vary also.
My first time went against the grain in that it actually did what it should have done, where most reports are that it's different the first go (also varies...). Gave me such a strong body buzz that I couldn't do much. That one was always consistent, and since I 'need' to be doing something all the time I found that it was what I hated most about it. Second up was the longer lasting side effects: normally just one, but sometimes up to three days afterward I felt dull, dense, and my memory was markedly impacted. Gives me such inability to focus that I can't actually come up with creative ideas. Hated that too. Oh and it made me easily startled and more paranoid.
The only "benefit" was that it exaggerated my synesthesia. However, it did so to such an extent that it added onto the above and disabled me from doing anything. I can think of better ways to waste 3-5 hours. Definitely not for me. (Hit me if I ramble about this again.)
But it makes the people in my house happy, and their happiness is what matters, so if they want to do it I think they should be able to unrestricted.

Still tired today. Physically exhausted and just generally unwell. Really do need to cast but it's very difficult to stand for any length of time. Wish sickness would pass faster.
Friend is at the airport, waiting to come home. I'm nervous for him, but also looking forward to maybe seeing him later.
