Evening all, well it is here.

Just having an evening Bonfire, which made me think of my Dad because we did enjoy a good burn. Yeah baby!

I am also remembering the hero he was to me and my two brothers and my Mum. Three years today gone but never forgotten.

So to you I raise my glass and say thank you for being the greatest Dad in the world!

(sorry about that. Needed to say it and I thought you guys and girls would appreciate why :))

ah, dry british wit, cynicism, and people doing stupid stuff

hell, the only reason I could read at a young age was because my parents read to me every night. my first few years in school they tried to do this stupid "accelerated reading" program and tried to hold me back where I was reading the same grade level books at the rest of the class but I would always just sneak the higher level books from the school library because I wasn't gonna put up with their shit. I ended up being able to read at a college level by the end of second grade (surprisingly there are plenty of kids going to the same college as me with barely over a 5th grade reading level). the idea of trying to prevent that because it makes people smarter and better off is stupid

You implied it was! I'm not really sure either way. It has a "drug like" effect, at least.

Accidentally set my alarm an hour earlier than I needed to. Bugger, I could have used that extra hour.

Oh boy, I NEED this figure. Twenty of them to be exact. The hype train for it to be commercialized is coming... at Match 15.
But I'd pay even more for a Chance figure.

I remember that I read the 5th Harry Potter book in third grade. Just because I was a bad ass like that haha. I think they had it set at the 9th grade level.

Frankly, I hated reading. School did NOTHING to change my mind about that.

I think my high school did it right. Each day, we had a 15 minute segment after announcements where all we could do was read. You had to write down how many pages you read, and a sentence about the content. HOWEVER, you weren't graded on how much progress you made or what you wrote. It was a participation grade, so as long as you did a little, you could read as much or as little as you liked.

There are lots of drugs in the world. Many of them are recreational, in that they bring you pleasure. Alcohol is one of them. Poppers another; marijuana is another; nicotine and caffeine too. Even rats will use drugs purely recreationally if the setting is right, which says that the problem is not with drugs, it's with how we approach them, and the mindset we have when we encounter them.

Alcohol and sodomy remain my vices. I was hoping to add to the list, but... sigh.

Also annoyed that I have to wait till the end of the week till I can get more studying materials and some new pens. Hate not having money.

One more "stay in bed" day. Feels like the body is at least healing. Managed to sit up enough to waste my entire day with Minecraft.

Antihistamine use seems to be helping with allergies also. Can feel the Benadryl kicking in already, should be in full force in about...twelve minutes. Took 50mg instead of 25mg. Jolted awake yesterday morning after it wore off and do not want to repeat.

Fun fact. When used correctly on directive of a licensed medical therapist who knows what the hell they're doing, rather than as a street drug/self medication, Cannibis is actually effective IN SELECT CASES of treating a variety of mental disorders, including bipolar, depression, and schizophrenia. Your mileage and chances of being jailed due to lack of proper understanding and legal support may vary.

(For the record, I'm still not touching that plant at any point in the foreseeable future.)

It's also sad, but substance abuse addictions in this country are more often than not treated entirely as a crime rather than a person having a problem and needing help to fix themselves.

"Rogers has anger management issues? Well let's get him some counseling!"
"Oh, what's that, Rogers had some cocaine in his pocket? Well screw him then, throw him in jail with the real criminals, he's just as bad a human being as they are!"

    >w> Also Catnip also can help with the symptoms of bipolar. Just be careful not to walk around with it in public, some people, including common training officers, might mistake it for Cannabis.

it is amazing how snooty ive become about this forum verses the old one.
Every time I set foot over there im constantly rolling my eyes over every little thing:
    1) everyone sounds so plastic and secretly underage
    2) dam y'all reeeeeeally deep in BDs corner
    3) why do they make a thread for every single thought that crosses their mind. "Is green a good toy color?" "I just had the best breakfast!" "How many toys is too many?"
