What Is On Your Mind?

I've decided to do all morning shfts before school this fall. Also learned the soonest I am legally able to move into the apartment with my guy is Feburary.... >.> Ah, naw son. I'm moving in sooner than that...

 

I'm lucky that there's only me and a couple of other people in this building or I'd feel like a complete asshole right now. An asshole with a big subwoofer and library of trap music. >:3

Aah, screw 'em. It was just a matter of time.

 

I know, but I still don't feel comforted by this ruling. It's too jarring; too much too quickly. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for the people who will be celebrating this victory, but at the same time I feel as though gay people are going to have to watch their backs even more over the coming months/years. I wouldn't be at all surprised if a sudden increase in homophobic attacks and harassment were to occur now.

 

Let's hope that's not the case then. I don't know the situation as well as A Lot of people but I hope it makes people more open to the idea and that they see for themselves that it doesn't really affect them. That's just me and my optimism though.

 

From reading the comments and opinions on the ruling, they're worse than usual. It's really got a lot of despicable people flaring up.

 

As they tend to do when something huge like this presents itself. Hopefully the anger of the moment passes.

This doesn't surprise me much. The writing had been on the wall for a while. Now if the US government passed laws on gun control to curb the ridiculous amount of firearm related homicides then I'd be genuinely shocked!

Sure, let's do that, it's not like people can't kill each other with things OTHER than guns :/

 

It's much more difficult to kill someone from 20 foot with a knife than with a gun.

 

They certainly can kill with other things, but it usually requires a lot more effort and gives others a chance to defend themselves. The attacking party also gets a chance to stop short of killing if it's not their intention.

 

Guns just make it infinitely easier.

That's the whole point! Regardless of whether or not gun control is in place, people are still going to get killed at the same rate as it stands today.
Our nation's love of guns is something that I feel really cannot be reduced, because the media has given us conflicting messages about them. They say "Guns are bad!" but in the same breath they'll say "It's a dangerous world out there, protect yourself with guns."
Now try and tell me that there isn't something wrong with that picture there.

 

Why use guns when we could use magic?

I'm not going to say more than that, apparently this is a touchy subject.

Can't we be happy for a FUCKING SECOND about equality? God damn.

 

I'm not against the public carrying firearms that are controlled properly, but you can't really bring up anything else as a weapon when the country has the highest firearm related crime per capita in the world. (Last I checked, at least.)

I would much rather be faced with two or more people at 20 feet wielding knives or makeshift weapons than a single person with a gun.
