made a table insert for a router table out of a 9"x12"x.25" aluminum plate. pretty sinple to do and cheaper than the ones you can buy premade. now I just need to make the table itself. for now I can just clamp it to a workmate. one of the more dangerous tools you can work with. when I make the table I'm going to make sure to add some aluminum T-rails for fingerboards and other safety tools, you don't want to see what a router can do to your fingers in less than half a second

Wow, quite a chunk of aluminum you have there! Looks good.
I think the most dangerous tool I have worked with, is a radial arm saw. I've seen them throw a length of aluminum extrusion through a pre-stressed concrete wall. Nasty machine if you are not careful.

I still need to get one of those. limited storage and limited funds suck. harbor freight has a pretty good radial compound miter saw with telescoping reach so you can cut extra wide pieces. clamping and guides for any saw are a must if you're working with materials with a propensity to get bound up and thrown

Do we have any carpenters here? I'm having a hard time finding a good desk and might be willing to support a local crafts(wo)man.

I know those can't even compare with most of the stuff you people put here...

But when I'm bored, I like to scavenge around the house and put some random stuff together into kind of prop guns. It's just some really random shit ducttaped together, so nothing fancy, but @SnowLycan encouraged me to post it anyways before... So I guess here we go. Excuse the camera flash, but otherwise the photos wouldn't be bright enough to see anything.
The most rifle-ish gun is actually "configurable" - I can easily cut out the magazine like thingy or duct tape it back again, and take off the stock (it's from one of the Nerf guns btw, I didn't think it will even fit but it does and holds firmly xD), so I can have 4 variants of it - long and short, with or without magazine. Too bad I can't find my oldest project like that, it was made of the tri-legged tourist chair and actually looked badass.

    Poop guns. Dont hate plz.

Now all you need to do is paper mache or use bits of foam to add details and then paint them and your guns will be complete.

Today I built this! My brother helped tamp the concrete. It's for our growing collection of rabbits! I will be building the rest onceonce the concrete has set next weekend. 20151010_174610.jpg 20151010_121233.jpg 20151008_175252.jpg 20151004_142507.jpg

So I built a little pocket bass amp for my build project for audio.
Was fun to build and really easy, sadly my LEDs don't work but overall it works fine :D
