Did you at least let them finish? I mean, it would be just plain disrespectful to kill them while they were in the middle.

So Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow are about to be released onto the Virtual Console on 3DS. Now the really neat thing is that you'll actually be able to transfer pokemon caught there to Gen VI games like ORAS, X&Y. But the only problem I see is that pokemon in Gen I and II were totally different from pokemon in Gen III and beyond. Stats work totally differently, moves work totally differently, hell natures didn't even exist in Gen I or II. Typing isn't hard to change, moves aren't hard to change, but stats are based on IVs and EVs and Hidden Values and Natures and those are all quite different across the generations. That's going to be one hell of a conversion. Players carefully design their stats in very precise ways, how are the values assigned to old stats going to be redistributed to the new style of stats?

In my defense, I waited, but they had stamina that would make any of us look bad. So I threw a bee hive bomb at them, they ran out of their hut and got mauled by my tiger.

I don't know if there is a finishing animation, or if they just keep going until alerted, killed, or you leave the area. Next time it happens I'll sit there and wait.

Gen II uses most of the same stats and values that Gen I uses, the only minor difference is Gen I took a few shortcuts with the technology so Gen II solved a few of them, but the big difference is still between stats that didn't exist, and the factors that determine them. The Changes from Gen I & II to III (never mind that fundamental changes beyond Gen III) are:

    • A complete overhaul of the Pokémon data structure; Pokémon now have an individual personality value which can range up to a number above four billion. Abilities and natures, also newly introduced, are determined based on this value, as is a Pokémon's gender, while the IV system has been overhauled for greater variance (0-31 rather than 0-15 as it was before). Shininess is now based on a calculation between the personality value and Original Trainer's Trainer ID number and secret ID number with the same rarity.
I'd be excited to see how pokemon moving into future games appear as just at a fundemntal level, shininess and gender don't even exist in Gen I.

I'm curious if they're going to lift restrictions from R/B/Y that existed due to the limits of technology, such as having to save when switching boxes, or not being able to catch pokemon if the current box is full. That, and item limits and unfiltered inventory, always irritated me. I dunno if they announced that they'd be doing any bug fixes or minor tweaks, like making the moves correctly correlate to the stats and fixing how balls work, or if they said they'd be leaving it completely alone. Really, they might be doing a back-end thing where it actually DOES create all the meta-data for EV's, IV's, shinyness, nature, ability, gender, and special stats, while not actually using them until transferred to another game. That's what I'd do. Once again though, I dunno if they're going the total purist route or not. But, I don't think people would be mad if they did that kind of behind-the-scenes data creation that wouldn't affect the game, so I see no reason why not.

I'm very very tempted to get into CS:GO. I know I wouldn't be very good at it, but it still seems kinda fun.

Being good at it comes with practice. Or you could have innate talent to it, who knows :D

Although I have to admit, it also requires a LOT of patience and nerves of steel to deal with retarded teammates, Russians, hackers, smurfs and children, or everything at the same time. Even worse when you deal with retarded Russian children in your team, and hackers and smurfs in the opposite one. But when you miraculously happen to have a clean game with decent teammates that know what they're doing, or at least ones that doesn't go "CYKA BLYAT KIK ME PLIS" and troll from the very beginning, this game can be amazingly fun to play. It's the community that ruins it IMO.

... Plus if you decide to get it - me, possibly @SnowLycan or @Poster Nutbag as well could help you learn the ropes :p I'm not a pro, but I think I play decently; we play competitive matches on rather regular daily basis. (Well, mostly me and Snow, due to Poster being in different timezone so it's difficult to play together at times lol)

I expect those kinds of people in multiplayer games anyway, ndb. I just used to be super good at shooters until I stopped playing them, and CS:GO is probably the most competitive shooter out there right now. So I'm thinking that although I might enjoy the twitch-shooter genre like I used to, I'm not going to be very good and get shat on for it.

Speaking of CS:GO, is it true that you can make money by selling knives and skins?

Yeah. 100% legit way is selling them on Steam Market, for Steam Wallet funds which you can use on games/DLC on Steam, or other skins from the Market. Not-so-sure-if-legit way are third party sites, where you can sell them for real money... As long as you don't get scammed.

I really like this a lot, even though I never played the P.T demo cause I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to horror games and I ain't good with jumpy, scary shenanigans :p

Anyway, back to the video at hand, it's really nicely put together.
