I love the way the pearlescent powder created those little marks that almost look like scales, I'm glad I chose this one over the purple one that was on the list, and the 3 firmness makes it a little hard to start with, but that nice squish is perfect once I get going with it

 

If by a drum pad machine, you mean it has the samples and/or synth programmed into it, no. I was thinking more of an input device for a DAW like FL Studio, the main purpose I thought up of this being more on the fly or live production, something that would take a ton of practice but would probably add more flexibility to a set for friends or something.

If it's not painfully obvious, this is mostly me rambling about "That would be cool"; I'm not practiced in DAWs or music making at all, but I'd like to be.

 

I am selling more of my toys. Consider checking them out. I am only selling to get extra $$$ after I get my check. Sucks when I have a convention coming up and can't afford to buy even my Japanese snacks and soda.....

 

Ah I see, I'm sure there'll be something like that in the near future.
And don't worry, even earning a degree in this stuff there's still a lot I have to learn about DAW's. ^.=.^;

 

Does anyone have any thoughts on Discord and how good it is compared to Skype? I was thinking of switching over to Discord since Skype doesn't let me call from my computer anymore ever since I upgraded to Windows 10. I got annoyed a while ago when I found out that I couldn't call one of my friends on there. I have tried sorting out Skype's problem myself before but it's very long winded and complicated.

 

*shrug* I had a license to FL Studio 11, the normal paid version, as a birthday gift, which a friend very generously upgraded me after seeing my enthusiasm at the time so that I had access to the Edison plugin and could work with recorded samples and such. I say had because it was on my old computer that got stolen, so no more license key. Thinking about saving up for FL Studio 12 which is ~$200, but without the Edison plugin (Only with Producer Edition, freaking $1,000 or so) I don't know if I want to....

 

I've since dropped Skype myself for other technical reasons (Windows 7). A friend dragged me onto Discord, it's.....alright. Of course when I first used it a few months ago, you HAD to be in a "server" aka a group to talk to anyone. If you don't share one with somebody, you can't send any messages to them, and if for whatever reason you left or got kicked (perhaps the owner/admin is one of those types who doesn't like people that don't agree with/brown nose them), you suddenly lost contact with everyone from there if you didn't have another mutual server.

Apparently that's since been remedied, you now just need to know their username and shoot them a friend invite, and they have to recognize and accept.

Personally I'm more fond of Telegram, but since what you want is voice chat, it's not for you (yet?). You can record and send voice messages if you're on your phone, but not your PC, and it's still not actual voice chat.

 

Ahh, I just use it for messaging and voice talking since all I use it for is typing and talking when one or more of my friends want to play League together. I've only heard of Telegram since you mentioned it and it looks quite good at the moment by the looks of things. I just heard that a load of people had raved on about Discord like the best thing since sliced bread so I wanted to see what the fuss was about. Thanks for telling me some bits and pieces about it

 

I had used discord on Windows 7 but recently did a clean install of Windows 10. Might have to try it out when @vahaala gets home. But from our previous experience it worked quite while. Though it didn't work well with @Poster Nutbag 's set up.

 

Yeah that's the problem with getting into this kind of field. It's really fucking expensive.

 

Seems like getting into any field beyond simple arts/crafts, cooking, and unskilled labor is really expensive these days, if you know what I'm referring to.

Speaking of which, need to pull out my tablet I got and hook it up so I can practice some more.

It's so frustrating to find a place to rent on your own. Either the rent is to high for a single person to pay or the location is certainly not safe for women.
There is shared accommodation but seeing as I have been stuck with my folks for years the thought of sharing with others is a no go.
It wouldn't really be a problem if I could get a well paying job.

Even in one of the worse neighborhoods around here, moving into an apartment would cost me the equivalent of $15/hour full-time.

 

I can kick my little sister out of the house and someone can move in there.

In all seriousness though. Currently at the hospital with some family. My grandfather is in after getting minor surgery for some blood clots and possible lung cancer. He's fine at the moment, we're just waiting for some results
