Ewww....I'd never use a toy in that bad a shape. I guess, you have a very interesting shaped squish stress item. ^^;;;; I can't believe that passed their quality control, if they even have one... >_>

Talking with them more, they really didn't want to talk about what they are doing or doing wrong. They just took away that model completely now and they changed all the pictures for their other toys to be ones without bubbles. They don't seem to be able to speak english well at all or just can't spell/grammar etc and they are from North Carolina. They are blaming the problem being the mold. Is there a way that the mold could cause a ton of bubbles?! I just cant even imagine that doing anything. Sure, bubbles at the tip if you make a weird shape that it would keep air pockets at the end or w/e but not the whole toy being filled with bubbles. They don't seem to want to actually fix their issue and just hide it to continue to make them cheaply :/ The only thing I can think to do for other peoples sake is to just keep an eye on them. It seems like i won't be getting that replacement after all.

Was it one that you were really looking forward to? How unique was it? I'm mildly curious as to who this maker was. =/ It sounds like despite being from NC, they just don't want to put the real time and effort into making toys. At least the members on here that are toy makers put far more care into things. I'm sorry this happened to you, but shoddy work like this shouldn't be promoted at all. If anything, the spread of awareness is a good thing. This way, others don't get duped into buying their quite frankly bloody awful work. You must be gutted. -patpat-

no honestly, it wasn't a big deal to not get this toy. I'm not even upset I'm not getting a replacement, I'm more upset at them selling this kind of stuff and not taking proper responsibility. Trying to push the problem on the mold when thats not the issue and clearly they aren't changing anything and just going to continue with what they are doing wrong, duping other people. I don't know what to do because I'd just feel guilty doing anything negative towards someone, but robert was right that the toy is super squishy which means they are using a silicone that claims to be vacuum free.
I'm very glad we have respectable, responsible, and knowledgeable toy makers on here!

Just for the record, this is the last message that the sent me

"Maam I'm glad to see another creature on Etsy. I know you had lots of knowledge during our conversation. There was a mix up with your order and I was and still are trying to make sure your are treated fair and with respect. I have refunded your account with a full refund. After further investigation the mold has gone bad on the (MODEL NAME HERE). There will no longer be any sold are made of this model. The problem with the mold have been made aware. There will not be anymore products cars from that mold. If there is anything else I can do please feel free to contact me."

I took out the model name for anon reasons for now, but I'm just not happy with this lack of responsibility.

Not to make fun of them, but wooow...that grammar. o_O;;; I don't blame you in the slightest for the irresponsibility and lack of care that went into this whole bloody process. Even though, I hold zero control over the matter, I can't still help but apologise.

To me it doesn't look like the silicone was degassed at all or if it was then they must have just popped it in real quick then popped it back out. I don't know of any reason the mold would cause these issues-- the surface of the toy (apart from the bubbles) looks fine. That's where any issues with the mold would show (like indents or dings, that sort of thing).

-Just fuckin puts my head in my hands like omg. Why this.- I don't understand why someone would bother to purchase silicone and not degass it properly. It's just a waste of money then. Either way-- I do think you should leave feedback on their shop being honest. I'm not saying that to be mean-- and I'm not trying to like...be like rip that wee company apart. I just think it's important that other customers know what they could end up with and it does seem like this shop is taking some responsibility by refunding you in full. That's a good thing! They just...need to sort out that air bubble issue cuz yeah. I wouldn't use it.

If they made the mold improperly, the mold itself could have air bubbles hrmm. Generally for dildos, a glove mold is made with a thicker liquid silicone that you coat the sculpt in. You're supposed to dab the first layer on the object with a brush, this forcefully pops any air bubbles on the surface so when you pour (degassed silicone) it should create a perfect replica of the original

Honestly, I think they're just not.. degassing long enough... or not pouring correctly

Those toys look awful and really not safe :(

I second Cancel. Leave an honest review stating that they were kind enough to give a refund but that there were significant issues with your purchase.

I definetly understand not wanting to hurt a budding company, but personally I’m a little concerned about people who are unfamiliar with silicone purchasing toys that aren’t cleaner friendly and the fact that the store seems to be stretching the truth a bit from the get go. There’s no reason for a “mold flaw” to cause that much bubblage. A couple large bubbles here or there, sure, but there’s no way it re-trapped air like that. : (

Yeah exactly. The only way a mold would make holes like that is if the mold spiked inwards all over, but no one would try to make a toy like that. They are just straight up lying and trying to avoid telling the truth to not have to do better. I will make an honest review. It's more important that people don't get ripped off or use an unsafe product. If they choose to do better, their future products will have to speak for themselves.

No, I honestly can't see how the mold would leave surface airbubbles like that (some molds have "trouble spots" where some bubbles will form, like the heads of BDs sleipnir and stan you see often, but not...like that)

Also chiming in to say that they did not degass their silicone.
And it's awful they are refusing to learn and better themselves. Shame.
No pressuring you, but I hope you name the shop so people can avoid them. It's one thing to go "oh shit, my bad, thank you for telling us and we will better ourselves!" and just throwing out excuse after excuse like that.
I personally don't shop at many indie stores, and this shit doesn't help.

As I run an indie shop I'm curious about why you prefer not to shop at smaller stores (aside from this particular issue, which I hope is not indicative of most small shops).

Totally understand if you prefer not to answer, I'm just really interested in what people perceive as the pros and cons of indie vs. big companies. ^_^

Personal stuff (Body only likes certain things, can't feel much, etc), but a big factor is because I'm just not into the handsculpted look a lot of them use. Also drama, but that's for a different thread in a different time. Also it's all hard to keep up with anymore.
Your toys do look great, tho. And there are def. some nice ones out there.
But I feel like I've tried so much and my body only likes certain things that I just keep getting let down when my body rejects 90% of the toys I buy anyway.

Thanks for your input! Personally I'm often not as into hand sculpted things either, although it's definetly not like a 100% hard no for me.

Yeah, the body wants what the body wants for whatever reason it wants it. XP

    Thanks for answering.
Hand sculpting is becoming rare just because of how cheap 3D printing has become
