I've actually been thinking a lot about how my fursona is different from me. I don't just mean it's got a muzzle and covered in fur (and she's a herm)... but more about their personality and attitude. I'm more of an introvert IRL (although I can fool people into thinking otherwise if I try) but my fursona is not. She's outgoing and can even just show off her goods cause she can. Course if she comes across someone with attitude, a quick "bite me" with a smile will do. She says fuck a lot... but than again, I have been known to do that in some instances. I notice there are a lot of "gun enthusiasts" in the furry fandom. I, however, do not care or have a problem with guns. But one day I thought about my character carrying one. Mainly just a small handgun/ revolver and a holster. Except she's not the best marksman... pretty average when it comes to her aim. I'm not sure why fursona carries a gun... it was completely out of the blue. Seemed weird that it surprised me, even though I came up with it.
Well, my main furry character really is meant to be a reflection of me as I am. although I do have several other (less developed characters) with much different personalities. I even go to the point of drawing all of the same piercings on "shey" as I have. She's maybe just a little more outgoing that I am? and when I draw her, I very often do so for my mate, so she gets extra breasts and a dick added on quite often. But personally I don't like to have her that way. I very much prefer myself represented as a woman with all the bits I actually have in the right numbers.
My fursona is me amplified. The raw lust, rage and instinct burns in my blood, I just can't act on it like a foolish animal in public. The animal is more evident and dominant in my fursona. I yearn so badly to have that freedom.
My two main OCs that I use are relatively different. One (being Vel) is like me slightly amplified, and the other (Brandy) is basically me if I were female >w<
Murphy is basically just supposed to be me, plain and simple Vitamin, is the sweet, innocent, and pure type. She represents my will to become a better person on the inside. Sierra is the clever, intelligent type. She's physically fit and has a high-paying job. She represents my desire to become a more successful person. (These are values I didn't realize until recently)
I've said this a few times, but both of my 'sonas are me, but they're completely different because they're completely different sides of me. Dame is obviously not me exactly, as I imagine her as a warrior, but she's my side that's ready to get into a fight, that defends myself and others, and is highly opinionated. Kasia is my little, she's sweet and innocent and hates the scary parts of the world. They're opposites, but they're the two conflicting sides of me. Dame is who I aim to be in the real world, and Kasia is more of who I am in private, when I let my feelings show more. I've been thinking of making a third fursona who is a representation of who I am in real life, which is both sides, but I haven't yet.
This is a neat thread. My icon fursona, Corbett Aurelius, . Is a amphibious thing the is a herm and is kind like a cross between a alligator, seal, salamander, and wolf/fox thing. She like my ID, raw animistic, untamed, aggressive, cannibalistic, and all around a monster. Its everything that I have deep down inside and sometimes am scared of. At times its a shelter and a wall of fury, slimy biomass that I know is scary, strong and menacing enough to keep out the things I hate. My other fursona, Julius a blue femboi deer, Is kind the opposite and is open, playful and just all around what I wish I could be ascetically. Proud of myself, brave even without raw power behind me.
If there was ever a furry "apocalypse" where everybody turns into their main fursona... Then I'd be no different at all lol, except I'd just have a bionic arm and be a werewolf.
Hmmm well Exeter is physically large, imposing, muscular, doubly hung and packing and pretty much a beast. But his personality is completely the opposite. He's sweet and cuddly and soft and tender and loving and shy and blushes and he's quite playful, despite his size and ample collection of spikes. Now how does that differ from me? Well it really doesn't. I don't have a fantasy of being this big dangerous scary monster. Even if I looked like that I'd still be me and that's what I'm comfortable playing. If I'm RPing Exeter I'm not going to play somebody completely unlike me, I'm going to play him the way I am, just throw in some muscle, giant dragon dicks, and wings. The rest is just me. I've also got a bunny fursona in mind to develop, I need something that reflects my sexuality too. I mean, I want what Exeter wants, but I also have a slutty side that comes out in the right circumstances. Exeter is me 90% of the time. But my bunny side is relevant too. If I'm in love with you you'll meet Exeter. If we're just having a fling, you might see a bit of both. If I don't really like you all that much but I like your sex, I'm the bunny. If I'm using a dildo I'm the bunny.
My personality goes through phases...based a lot on my mood. My fursona is pretty much based on me when I'm in my happy, bubbly, and social mood. (Basically, she's like my public face.) She's an alien because...I often feel like I am not of this planet...AKA, I have a hard time relating to pretty much everyone I meet. Not a bad thing just...I can't understand or comprehend a lot of why people do things. But she is forever curious and loves to learn.
^ And she's not really a sexual representation of me....I mean sometimes I draw NSFW pics with my bf's character for personal feelings (that run deeper than just meaningless porn...since that' pretty much done in overkill) but...idk, maybe it's because I fursuit and interact (as her) with a lot of people and I love to make them smile. So sexualizing her too much seems kinda...wrong to me, idk.
