Lube Compatibility list

- Please remember that this topic is made by happy (or not so happy) forum members, and is not an official list made by Bad Dragon.
- Use the lubes listed below with your toys at own risk.
- If tested multiple times, the other reviews will be added, looking like this: (Name lube) --(2)-- --(3)--
- If tested only in use and washed right after, and not having been tested multiple times, a tag [In Use] will be added. When washed after 24 hours, there will be no tag.
- Tests taking less than 1 hour will not be added.
- Sometimes lube seems to leave marks or light etching on the disc. If they dissapear in less than a week they will be considered compatible. This is probably just some of the lube that sticks to the disc.

Brand and name: Astroglide Gel
Compatible: Yes!

Testing time: overnight (~10 hours)
Method of testing: tested on sample disc
Result of the test: it mostly dried, there was a little bit in the center that was still wet (its thick stuff!), and it washed off no problem!
I've been using it to play since I made sure it would work, and it's been great so far

also, a note about this stuff: if you use it and it gets a little tacky, just splash some water on your toy/genitalia/where the lube is and it slicks right back up! You have to rub quite a bit to actually wash this stuff off with just water.

Brand and name: Astroglide - Astroglide Liquid
Compatible: Yes
Testing time: 2 days 1 week and 2 days
Method of testing: Used twice for toying sessions and washed off without problems, having heard elsewhere that was safe to use with BD toys. Then I had a toying session but was so tired I forgot to clean it immediately, and thus it stayed for two days. Covered half the back of a soft - 3 disk with Astroglide lube, rubbed a little bit of it in. Left it alone to sit and 'soak'.
Result of the test: No change to silicone color, texture, or finish. Was on color "glowstick green" so my dark disk may have different results. Final say is still pending. Absolutely no change to the back of the disk. No color change or texture, and no shadiness or scuff appearance seen either. The Astroglide itself was a bit more gel-like, but surprisingly didn't dry completely. Came of easily with soap and water.

 

Name of Lube: BabeLand Natural
Compatible?: Yes

Length of time tested: 1 hour +
Method of testing: Smeared onto a portion of a Firmness 3 sample disk and let sit, occasionally rubbed the lubricant to warm it. Lubricant became tacky after about 35-40 minutes and almost entirely evaporated after about 50 minutes. Did not rinse the sample disk afterward for a couple days.
Result of the test: No damage or change to sample disk.

Brand and name: Doc Johnson Anal Lube Natural (Oil Based)
Compatible: Yes

Testing time: 2 days i left some on a sample disk.
Result of the test: No effects whatsoever! Slightly difficult to wash away with water as its oil based, but its a very good lube.

Brand and name: Durex - Bene-Luxe Jelly
Compatible: Yes
Testing time: 48+ hours
Method of testing: BD sample disc
Result of the test: Didn't affect silicone at all. Water based, very easy to wash off. Do not recommend this for larger toys because it not slippery enough (I normally use this for my fleshlight, but wanted to test it anyway)

Brand and name: Durex Play massage gel 2 in 1 with Aloë vera.
Compatible: Yes

Testing time: Long. Like, a week or more.
Method of testing: I tested this first on the base of my toy, didn't seem to damage the toy so I used it, then forgot to clean it (or I was lazy, or my mom walked in, choose your favortie) for over a week.
Result of the test: Nothing happened. Washed the toy and it looked perfect like always.

 

Brand and name: Durex Play Tingle
Compatible: Yes
Testing time: 24 hours
Method of testing: Tested one large drop on the bottom of a 5 firmness sample disk.
Result of the test: Washed off easy, leaving an etch mark that disappeared in another 24 hours.

 

Brand and name: Durex Play-O
Compatible: Yes
Testing time: 24 hours
Method of testing: Tested two small drops on the bottom of a 5 firmness sample disk
Result of the test: Washed off easy with no residual markings.

 

Earthly Body Water Slide: Safe
There's nothing dangerous in this one, so I wasn't surprised.

Ingredients: Water, propanediol, Carrageenan.

Result: Left a gummy bear like residue that peeled away cleanly, leaving no damage.

 

Brand and name:Equate Lubricating Jelly (Compares to KY Jelly)
Compatible: Yes

Testing time: 36 hours
Method of testing: I poured the Equate on a "5" sample disk and left it on my desk. Over the 36 hours it was exposed to darkness, natural sunlight, artificial light, heat, and coolness. My bedroom is not air-conditioned and therefore the temperature changes drastically based on the time of day.
Result of the test: After the 36 hours were up, the jelly easily came off of the disk in a gooey partially-solidified way, and the disk was left unharmed.

 

Brand and name: Exact Personal Lubricant Jelly (from pharmacy in Zehrs grocery store)
Compatible: Yes

Testing time: 1d 3h
Method of testing: Placed some on 'Medium' sample disk, left for 24h before checking again.
Result of the test: Lube itself dried up some, becoming quite sticky and gooey. Rinsed off easily with water and soap without leaving any visible residue or affecting sample disk at all.

 

Fromms - FF (200ml)

Brand and name: Fromms - FF (200ml)
Compatible:Yes

Date of testing: 15.02.2014
Testing time: 20h
Method of testing: Covered a spot on the bottom of my David and left it to dry.
Result of the test: The lube didn't dryout compleatly and left a sticky film ontop of the toy. The film was removed with soap and a washcloth. The toy showed no etching or discoloration.

Ingredients: Aqua, Glycerin, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Sodium Benzoate, Lactic Acid, Potassium Sorbate

Brand and name: Geisha erotic body care waterbased lube
Compatible: Yes

Testing time: 24 hours
Method of testing: Covered a part of a sample disc with it and left it to sit for a day.
Result of the test: Washed it off and sample disc was in perfect state. Also toys that have been used with it don't show any damage from it.

 

Brand and name: ID Moments ( Waterbased Hypoallergenic/ No Glycerin/No Parabens )
Compatible: Yes

Testing time: 3-4 Hours

Method of testing: Tested on BD sample disc, no signs of damage. Contains no silicone products in ingredients

Result of the test: No negative effects on disc.

 

Brand and name: J-lube
Compatible: Yes

Testing time: Can't remember, probably about an hour.
Method of testing: I read in the old topic that it was compatible, so I just used it with my toy. Pure lube (mixed powder with water, a little thicker than the bottle told me to make it) on a disc for about 10 minutes, then used it for a while.
Result of the test: Toy looked perfect after use.

Lube: Sliquid Silver
Tested on: BD sample disc, and the underside of the bases of the Vixen Leoweenie and the Tantus Adam

Method of testing: I applied a tiny glob of lube on the appropriate places.

Effect: The lube didn't get gummy, but when washed off it left marks in the form of ridges, sunken or raised I can't quite tell. It's certainly visible though. The effect was immediate.





Especially the Mocha Adam proved a great model for this, because that silicone is so fucking sturdy and smooth that you can hardly get a mark on it. The ridges that show where the globs were first applied REALLY stand out.

EDIT: Boiled this whole lot and another toy and the marks are gone. Also on the Adam, completely smooth underside of the the base again. Wut? Anyway, for the sake of all that is good and silicony be careful with this lube and your silicone toys.

 

JOYdivision - AQUAglide (1 liter)

Brand and name: JOYdivision - AQUAglide (1 liter)
Compatible:Yes

Date of testing: 15.02.2014
Testing time: 20h
Method of testing: Covered an area on the bottom of the suction cup on my Ice Dragon and left it laying to dry.
Result of the test: Lube dried and the remains were removed with a washcloth and warm water. The toy showedno etching or discoloration.

Ingredients: Aqua, Glycerin, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Sodium Methylparaben

Brand and name: KamaSutra Oil of love Tropical mango flavour
Compatible: Yes
Testing time: overnight (so about 8 hours)
Method of testing: a huge dribble on a sample disk
Result of the test: I had a tester of this so i decided to pop abit on my sample disk, again this one was fine, but it kept running off the disk as its so slippery.... i ended up with a sticky desk

Brand and Name: KY Jelly (Water Based)
Compatible: Yes

Testing Time: 24 Hours
Method of Testing: Applied large dollop of lube onto a sample disk. Left unattended for 24 hours.
Result of the Test: No negative effects, no damage to the disk whatsoever. Please note, this is for the water-based version. Specifically, the exceedingly plain water-based KY Jelly, no scents, no nothing. Some other forms of KY (such as the KY Sensitive that Red-Black tested) are not for use with silicone based toys.

Ingredients: Purified Water, Glycerin, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Clorhexidine Gluconate, Gluconolactone, Methylparaben, Sodium Hydroxide.

Anecdotal Note: I have never received a UTI from KY Jelly (Plain, Water-Based), and I am highly susceptible to them.
