Share your tips and tricks on how you get your look on point! And by that I mean please teach me how to use this stuff I have no idea what I'm send help
I might be meeting with someone who can teach me a few tricks on the weekend, if I acquire any new knowledge I'll post here!
OK! here are my favorite tips and tricks: First- what skin type do you have, oily, dry, combination? If you have oily skin never use a moisturizer/moisturizing primer it will only make it worse. Instead use a mattifying primer (I have super oily skin and my favorite is neutrogena rice protein primer) If you have dry skin always use a light moisturizer under your foundation, and if you have combination skin target your T- zone (forehead nose and chin) with the mattifying primer and hit your dry areas (likely cheeks) with a moisturizer. -Always go for a non-oily foundation. Even if you have dry skin matte foundations will look better on most everyone. -If you have large pores and are really self conscious of them try a pore blur product, I use baby skin from mabelline. It feels weird smearing a thick clear paste over my nose but it really does make my pores less noticeable. - eyeshadow primer is your friend. It'll keep your shadow in place for longer and it'll look better too. If you don't wanna spring for a specialized primer you can also use some foundation on your eyelids before putting on your shadow - for the love of god don't buy super cheap mascara or eyeliner they're a sure jump into smudging running and potential allergies (I started by using cheap eye stuff from wet n wild and other cheap brands and now I can only use expensive organic crap because I'm allergic to everything else) - on the subject of eye makeup you need to replace your mascara or anything else you dip into after touching your eye after 6 months max. This is because your eyes are lovely little homes for bacteria and parasites and when you touch that close to your eyeballs and then put them into a warm and moist tube (your mascara) they will happily breed. If you have a pot style liquid eyeliner the 6 month rule also applies. Sticks and pens last a lot longer because you can wipe them down or break off the tip to reveal untouched new makeup. On this same note smell your eye products right when you open them and then continue smelling them before you use them. One of the biggest indicators of bacterial growth is that they will start smelling funny. If your makeup starts smelling different get rid of it and get new stuff - rubbing alcohol is your best friend! did your eyeshadow palate get contaminated with either bacteria or another color? get a paper towel, put some rubbing alcohol on it and gently rub it over the surface of your shadow, it will remove a layer of color and help kill any bacteria in residence. Leave palate open to the air until it dries. You can also use this trick for shared makeups and you'll be significantly less likely to spread around bacteria (but never share mascara or eyeliner. Just don't. It's not worth it).
I need help! I'm goth, so I'm specifically looking for good looks that don't look funny on my face. I feel like my eyes make it so hard to do good and simple makeup because I don't know how.
