yeah it's technically not a real katana but holy fuck that's a hell of a chopper. the shorter wakizashi version he made would probably be more practical than that 4 pound behemoth

on another note someday I'm gonna have an umbrella stand by my front door full of swords, just because

I would personally prefer to cover one of the walls with all the swords surrounding my halberd.

got the SOG fasthawk. small, cheap, modifiable, what more could you want?
    CIMG0967.JPG CIMG0968.JPG
it's not an understatement when I say this thing is small, the edge is 2 inches, overall length is 12.5 inches and it weighs 19 ounces. I'm probably going to reprofile the spike and add some sort of better grip to the handle. I probably won't be throwing this and I definitely won't be smashing cinderblocks or concrete like every tacti-cool douchebag you see that uses the wrong tool for the job. people complain this thing breaks easily but that's usually after they try to smash reinforced concrete or masonry bricks at a weird angle or they way overswing. if you want to break stuff, get a nice 20 lb demolition sledge or a pickaxe. if you want a small backpacking/survival tool that -could- double as a weapon, get this. even if it does break it's cheap enough to replace, unlike some of the overpriced tomahawks out there

Oh do not try that with a real halberd please. You will dislocate your own body  It is heavy as hell.

I know that. for a medieval style combat game that actually got pretty close to how sword fighting is done they have some silly stuff like that lol

Yep, other games usually do a lot worse when it comes to sword wielding.

It's not a sharp object as such, but it's the closest I have. Stupid UK nanny state, old ass moron law makers *mumble grumble*...

I just wanted one to practice flipping, but these crappy party trick things are the only ones you can legally get over here, except the Benchmade 40T/42T/62T. But they're discontinued, so impossible to find and ridiculously expensive.

I could have sworn that I posted my few bits of sharp stuff here........
    Better make amends then.............

First my cheap-ish short katana, and my 'Old Timer' knife, always with me when out camping.
    P8050004.JPG

Two family heirloom swords, been in the family for over 100 years. My US Calvary Sword, and my 'Knights of Cincinati' Rapier (I know how to use this fairly well)
    P8050001.JPG
Not so much as sharp, my Peruvian Hatchet made of iron wood, and quite capable of chopping down trees and thick foliage.
    P8050005.JPG

I have other blades and art knives at my dads home, one of these days I should bring them home.

Wow, two incredible pieces of History you've got there. They were used or bought by your ancestors?

they sometimes come needing a little fine tuning though, noting a round needle file and 5 minutes can't fix though

They were both used/worn by my grandfathers, The US Calvary saber from my fathers side, and the rapier from my mothers side. The scabbard for the saber was given to my aunt, and apparently has been lost. Also the 'Knights of Cincinnati' is similar to the Knights of Columbus, a Catholic church group originating in Ohio, as I understand it. A beautiful and very well balanced sword too.
