    That is so cute, Snow! ;w;
    Also I think your art is way good enough to post on a art hosting site. o.o I think you could easily make good money off commissions, too!

    *blush* thanks. But as I have discussed with other members via pm I have no clue what to charge etc. Plus working under pressure is not my kind of thing.

    I wish I had known you had a pony OC, I would have drawn her on space core instead of scootaloo.

    Ok if and when I start doing commissions. How does it work? How much do you charge etc? Are there time scales? Cause I really don't like working to a deadline.

    I think you just work whatever suits you. You just charge whatever you think it's worth - or you can even let others decide ^^ Same goes with time limits. It's you who does the commission, so you set the rules. Don't like working to a deadline? Have a Blizzard approach "it's done when it's done" :p

    You get to choose. $8-20 for a simple sketch is common for stuff that won't take an enormous amount of time, going upwards to $50 for detail like flat colours and people can go $50-80 for inks if you're professional quality and prepared to invest lots of time.

    The time you spend on it is up to you, a lot of people dedicate a block of time every week for it and say they'll only do 5 that week, deadlines aren't fun but knowing when to say "it's done now" is a helpful way to make them more manageable.

    So basically, find a price you're comfortable putting a little time in for, find a workload you're comfortable handling in a reasonable amount of time, and figure out what you're willing to do with it.

    I heard those prices are charged by the hour. Sadly I'm not good enough to do fantastic coloured pieces.

    Always consider how much time you're putting into a piece of artwork, and what that time is worth. Is your work worth minimum wage at least? Only you can really decide that. That's $11 an hour here in Ontario. Would be you be comfortable charging $11 for the drawing you did of my character? Only you know how much time went into that.

    Makes me wonder if I should charge at all. But the extra income would be nice.

    Some people figure out how much to charge depending on how long it takes for each type of commission. For example, here's how I figured out my current price sheet. Say I want to earn $5 for every hour of work I put into it, a sketch takes me about 1/2 an hour on average, a fully shaded digital takes me about 4 hours one average, and profile pics are 1/3 the work. So, $2.50 for a sketch, $20 for fully shaded, and 1/3 of 20 is 6.6 so I decided to round it down to $6 for fully shaded digital avatar. Now, this was all my preference and is not going to stay the same forever. Some artists choose a base or max price then adjust depending on what the commissioner wants, and some have set prices that go up a certain amount with each tier of work (sketch, colored sketch, lineart, etc.) It all depends on they way that is easiest for you.
