I'm liking these two; it lets people know what we're about (the collecting of fantasy toys) without being crass about it. It severs our ties with the original site, while letting others from that site know that we're still about (essentially) the same thing. :3

 

though if we go with that name, we need to set up some heavy Anti-SEO to keep kids from wandering here.

You have a point about that. Is it possible to get the forum labeled "Restricted to Adults"? It might help keep some kids whose parents have some kind of filtering enabled away from the forum. Combine that with Anti-SEO and keeping certain forums - mostly toy talk, the forum games and possible RP boards - invisible to guests and people under a certain amount of posts I think we should be okay.

 

Honestly, I think we should keep the whole forum invisible to non-registered users

 

I do understand the need to maintain privacy, but how will people find all the great resources we painstakingly put together if they can't even find the forum? Keeping certain sections viewable will compel them to want to register and become a part of the entire forum.

@CactusWren I do very much agree with the post limits, on the old forum, too many people would just sign up and dive right into the Naughty Pics section and start posting (pretty much each time it was a faker too).

 

I think the post limit thing was already implemented or suggested to be implemented, but I do feel that it would definitely add a more secure layer to the forum in general. And with as private and sensitive a topic as this forum's, every bit of security helps.

I mean we are all awesome... and we like our fantasies real.
Kick-Ass Toyers? Makes me think of...
Fawlty Toyers. Of course, not everyone would get that reference. Speaking of the BBC...
Dragon Who? Which could be abbreviated Dr. Who if you so please... though private use as to avoid any legal issues.

So this thread kinda quieted down...does that mean we can expect a formal vote in the near future?

 

I'm sure everybody just forgot lol have any suggestions? I'm a fan of everything to do with hoards and dragons. I want us to stay close to our roots on this one ^^

Basically, right now there isn't a need to HAVE to change, because the domain name is registered in the UK, not the US, where BD doesn't have their name trademarked. So the only reason we would need to change the name would be if the majority of the community WANTED to change the name. And at that, I'm not sure if we would be able to change the actual domain name, as BDC Admin hasn't really answered my question about that.
So, sorry to leave you all in the dust about this. Personally I'm not 100% sure how to proceed. If it were up to me, I'd like to change the name, or put it to a vote as to whether or not we did. But I'm just not sure that that's an option.
