Most newer tests don't matter because they have been improved to pick up even the smallest amount of the pregnancy hormone.

If you have another test, hang onto it and recheck it in a week. By then, if you are it will show up no matter what time of day.

My sister said when she was pregnant, her test showed a positive instantly.

And update to my first post here:

I got my period this month, I had cramps for like 3 - 4 days before the bleeding started, which is a little late, but the bleeding is actually normal. I have more this month than what is considered normal for me, but I'm chalking it up to having unusually light ones the past couple months.

 

It certainly seems like my period has started.... but I'm on the pill and I am not due until Thursday at the earliest...

I haven't been on the pill all that long but this seems a little weird.

 

Breakthrough bleeding is pretty normal and, in my experience, when I started taking the pill, it altered my period. It shifted the time my cycle was supposed to start, but kept it more regular overall.
