    (I'm bored.)

What universally-derided movies have a special place in your heart? What beloved classics make you want to put a brick through the TV? Share!

    Personal Likes:
    Signs
    Predator 2
    Rocketman
Equilibrium (4 words: martial arts with guns :D)

    Personal Dislikes:
    E.T. (hate that creepy bastard)
    Who Framed Roger Rabbit
    A Christmas Story

A few years ago I was at my grandparents house for the holidays, cringing as they played A Christmas Story for background noise. It FINALLY ended, and I breathed a big sigh of relief, watching with anticipation to see what might come on next. Like something out of a sitcom, the TV announced, "Next up: A Christmas Story! On our 24-hour movie marathon!"

    First Off
    Fuck yeah

    Likes:
    ANI-Matrix
    Fearless
The Addams Family (it is on my mind)

    Dislikes:
    Miracle on 34th Street
    Singling in the Rain
Wizard of Oz (Love the story and every remake. HATE ALL THE FUCKING MUSIC NUMBERS)

EDIT: Missed the point. Changed Matrix to ANI-Matrix. Fearless is considered a C-class Kung-Fu film and Addams Family is now more less considered bad based on its merits as a production.

    The addams family is awesome.

My bf hates the rocky horror picture show. I just sat there being akwardly turned on by Tim Curry in sexy lingerie

I absolutely detest The 5th Element. I get sick even hearing the name *shudders* It was on every. single. night. at my house because my step dad used it to fall asleep to. And it would constantly repeat till he woke up at 4 am for work.

He also watches it during the day since it's on all the fucking time x__x.

    Sooo...yea 5th Element. Hate it.

I'm not a fan of Rocky Horror Picture Show either :X. Mostly because people kept trying to shove it down my throat to like it all through high school.

All Dogs Go To Heaven (I'm a huge cartoon junkie)
Requiem For a Dream (Aronofsky <333)
Party Monster (I know they play it a lot on TV, but that movie just never gets old to me.)

    Dislikes:
    Garden State (SNORE)
Alice In Wonderland - the Tim Burton version. (Probably because I grew up with the Disney one...I know that the other one is closer to the book, but I don't like how dark and war-oriented it is. And I hate stupid prophecy movies)

ALSO if you guys are looking for a good indie movie...'Gummo' gives me the spooks and chills (in the good way) every single time.

What? Tim Burton did a great job on Batman and Batman Returns. It made Gotham filthy and I love it so.

The original Batman is not my thing, I can understand why people like it, but I think it's overall pretty boring.

Batman Returns is just awful. Motivations are nonsensical, the plot is all over the place since it's trying to fit in three villains (Christopher Walken counts), it plays out like a shitty christmas episode of batman, and Batman literally shoves dynamite down a thugs pants and blows him up. That is literally the most un-Batman like thing that could ever happen.

I have a soft spot for Blade Trinity a.k.a the worst of that series according to most people. And I agree, but I still like it a bunch. Mostly out of Nostalgia since I watched it a good number of times when I was younger.

And I can't stand Napoleon Dynamite. Never could.
And if I can extend it to tv shows.
I despise Beavis and Butthead. I can't even watch the show to give it a chance. From the few clips I've seen, the visuals and voices rub every part of me the wrong way. They make me super uncomfortable.

Oh, I assume you mean my dislike of Equilibrium? The movie with the "gun-kata" sequences of people posing at ridiculous angles, and one of the most pretentious, poorly acted movies I've ever seen?

I meant all of the above :D Though Batman Returns frustrates me, if I'm going to be honest: I loved catwoman, but the penguin was just gross.

Fine, fine, you make a good point about Equilibrium. *pouts*

Seen that movie ~125 times, and it never gets old to me :p

I don't see a whole lot of movie but a few opinions that seems to stand out are….

I very much so dislike The Avengers. It plays like a parody of a superhero movie and is overall really cheesy in bad way. Much bigger fan of more classic action movies (you know, like Terminator 2).

Heavy Metal is an absolute masterpiece. Just because its ridiculously violent, graphic, vulgar and essentially pornographic, doesn't mean it isn't an absolute visual and mental spectacle. It has so many iconic scenes and one of the most kickass soundtracks ever.

Demolition Man is another one of my favourite action movies. Mainly because it is ridiculous and over cartoony and uses every trope in the book completely on purpose. It's a self aware action movie that is simultaneously funny while entertaining through action.

The four batman movies (Starting with the first Tim Burton one) are some of my least favourite movies. Tim Burtons style just does not fit Batman in my opinion, and Jack Nicholsons joker is given far too much credit. The plots aren't intuitive, and the action is over cheesy while trying to be serious.

OMG, Demolition Man is AMAZING. Probably the only movie I can stand with Stallone and/or Rob Schnider.

Which reminds me, I really didn't like Rocky.

I really enjoyed 47 Ronin. I like most Keanu Reeves movies, matter of fact. Hell I like Keanu Reeves, Keanu Reeves if tucking awesome.

That being said, don't care for the Matrix. Could never make it through an entire star wars movie, either.

A Scanner Darkly is another favourite of mine. Love the animated/live action fusion style.
