Hey guys.

I don't normally do this, but my mom has been working on an idea for a TV show for the last 3 years now. She's finally getting everything together for it, has it copyrighted and submitted to the network and everything.

However, because it's a TV show that's centered around the AUDIENCE and their hometowns, she really can't start on anything without YOU!
She needs feedback, suggestions, and support before she can do this officially.

AS A BACKGROUND: The show is called 'Off The Beaten Path' and how it works is this: You send her an email about your hometown anywhere in the United States. The idea is to tour unique places that mainly only locals know about. (like a park, museum, ect. That isn't widely known by people outside the area.) She will choose an email for each show and fly down to where you are. You will be the host of the day, giving the tour and talking about your hometown. The show ends with a visit to a locally owned bar or restaurant. She wants to promote small businesses and encourage people to explore their area more as well as travel!

Even if you don't want to be part of the show, your support is still super important because recently one of the people she has been working with completely ripped off her idea, and even stole her exact wording on her mission statement :/

I'm not sure Las Vegas would qualify Vitani, it's not exactly off the beaten path, and rather well explored by tourists.

 

Too bad it's US only. There are many beautiful places in Poland, but I've personally never been to them.

On other note, I found the ultimate reason for commiting suicide. Just watched a vid where a kid cries (happiness) for receiving a tablet on his birthday, not a fav cartoon char plushie, nor a Disney trip, nor a huge party with all his friends at a cool place... a tablet. This world disappoints me.

 

If I needed them, Bleeder of the Pack would have been my choice ultimately.

I don't really understand why kids, especially young ones, are getting electronics. A friend just told me how her ~10 year old nephew just got an ipad or some such for Christmas last year. At least she said the parents limit the kids time playing on the thing, but still.

 

Oh come on, a tablet for the kids is not all bad. There are a lot of educational games kids can take advantage of on an iPad as well as games that are just for entertainment. If the parents sets it up and limits the use to only certain programs and such then why not? Kids still hang about outside and enjoy time spent with their friends. Mostly it's just another device for them to play games on just like the Nintendo 64 I got one christmas. They're not all bad.

I get that with Google and the internet the kids can access things that they should not be seeing and that's a bad thing but hey, cut the tablets some slack at least.

 

I suppose it's just because I when I grew up I almost never watched TV and we really didn't have a PC back then. I think we might have had an NES, but I didn't start playing it until I was in high school. XP I spent most of my days playing outside.
