Holy shit. Just, wow. Here's a kicker for you, we don't. The only time it becomes a big deal is when some asshole uses our condition as an excuse to dehumanise us at best and kill us at worst. That is literally the only reason we ever bring it up.
Just look at what started this whole thing. I was pointing out with despair just how many people despise me and people like me just because we have a condition that effects NOBODY BUT OURSELVES. Then you came along with your unwarranted and uneducated opinion to shit all over us some more, on a subject that does not concern you in any way whatsoever. And then you started being a complete asshole when we defended ourselves, yet tried to imply that we are the aggressors and act as though we demand unreasonably special treatment and get violent when we're not pandered to. What the fuck is wrong with you? Are you also one of those people who tells those with depression to kill themselves? Or think that disabled people should be treated exactly the same as everyone else? Because that's the impression I'm getting.
I literally just stated that almost none of us want to be trans. We know it isn't the norm. These are perceptions coming entirely from you and you alone. All we ask is that we're approached with the same consideration and compassion as anyone else with some kind of disability or mental condition. This isn't groundbreaking social revolution, it's called being a decent fucking person.
But it cares less about us than it does you. That is a statistical fact. That's why our suicide and murder rates are through the roof compared to the average population. Why we can't often go out in public or after dark through the very real fear of being ostracized, assaulted, harassed and killed FOR DOING FUCK ALL. And don't even get me started on trying to find a romantic partner. All of these things are definitely not at the forefront of the average cisgender (yes it's a real term, no Tumblr didn't invent it) person's mind. What you're saying is a shitty excuse that absolves the responsibility of caring, learning and respecting others, and it is an utterly disgusting form of apathy and ignorance; the very reason society is as shit as it is.
AGAIN, WE DON'T. Do you really fucking think that trans people can just turn up anywhere, at some specialised event or do something in public and deliberately draw attention to the fact they're trans? I'll give you the answer: fuck no, we don't. Again, that is EVERYONE ELSE'S PERCEPTION. Once a cis person clocks a trans person, it's generally all they can focus on. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH US. WE ARE JUST TRYING TO LIVE OUR LIVES AS CLOSE TO NORMAL AS IS POSSIBLE FOR US.
Jesus fucking christ, dude. You need to get more information about our experiences from places other than Tumblr. So far, nothing you have put forward has validated your opinion beyond "it's just SJW bullshit" and "But you're saying mean things to me, you're just as bad as the people who dehumanise and kill you".
