Better Defined Rules for NSFW Art

NSFW art can delve into some rather taboo subjects (underage, gore, rape, ect.). As @Dr. Tran has brought up in the R34 thread, we should have some rules defined to decide what is acceptable/not acceptable, or proper ways to post questionable material (eg. spoiler buttons, fair warning).

As a community, perhaps we should all weigh in on this subject, and come to an acceptable common ground.

Most sites have a standard clause in their TOS about posted content that requires it to met federal standards on content. That usually means no under age and no beast, pending which country the server is hosted in. As we are a community based around fantasy and feral sex toys, we have pretty much already violated the beast rule for artistic content.
I'm sure most users will agree to obviously underage characters in sexual situations.
but what about older versions of the characters? what about ambiguous ages? What about underage characters that aren't human?how do we want to deal with his in a way that won; get us on a watch list?

and on the subject of fetishists, well we got a whole lot. I figured it would be best to just make our equivalent of /d/ (4 chans ALt/ Hentai board) and keep those images there. things like rape, vore, gore, cannibalism, inflation, water sports, fecalphillia and the like for those of us with harder tastes.
but would things like BDSM, pending on its level, also be included? what about ambiguous things like feet fetishes? some people love it, some people don't care, others are horrified by it. what's the best way to handle that issue? I'd like the community to weigh in please.

 

i think that putting things in spoilers would be a good start if you're unsure of the content or if its taboo.

 

I'd agree absolutely NO underage (cub) anything.
For the other more hard core fetishes (scat, violence), people should use the [SPOILER] tag. For a bit of warning. Most drawn fetishes seem less offensive to me, so I don't have a bias on this. Real images however I really don't want to see.

 

I agree with the idea of no young/cub. I know a few people are into it, but I think most would generally agree it's not okay. Other stuff I don't care much about; I just tend to skip over things I don't care for.

 

That attitude is admirable. but I think we all know that it only takes one person to complain and a rule gets changed. so I'm thinking along those lines. what do we agree on so we can prevent a problem before it starts?

 

I'm more for allowing all artwork that isn't deliberately made to aggravate anyone, as long as it is all very clearly labelled and can't be found by accident. People are in to weird things, and keeping these weird things in the realm of art is not harmful.
Full blown censorship would not be my choice solution, but rather making strict rules about clearly marking and spoilering certain topics.

 

Another thing about "Ageing up" young characters is, what the heck defines "Ageing up"? Breasts don't magically make you 18 (I was somewhat heavy chested by 6th grade). Some characters are naturally flat or have no mammary tissue at all. Also, how does one Age Up young male characters? facial hair and big muscles do-not-a-man-make especially if they're intended to be feminine. Last observation is what to do with adult character's whose race already looks extremely childlike (Asura come to mind). Extremely large or small characters might cause confusion too (size difference)

The mind is boggling folks, though I would think the solution to all these problems is to just hide everything with spoiler tag

 

Fair enough, and I understand that, I was just stating my personal feelings. I'm all for finding a solution to the issue of certain content being too easy to access.

 

I agree with more or less everything said here. Though generally speaking such restrictions would involve taking physical characteristics into question when determining perceived age, as often perception is more important than fact.

Maybe we should just have an "Extreme Kinks" subforum for the adult forums, for stuff like watersports/cub (since it's hard to define and a huge grey area with creatures with unclear defining lines)/gore/etc, and you need to meet a minimum post/time since joined to see it?
