Changing your avatar

Is anybody else ever hesitant to change their avatar? I feel like one builds up a certain reputation with a particular image, and personally I end up associating people with their avatars almost as much as their posts.

I kind of want to change mine, but I dunno. For one thing I can't decide what to change it to, but the other thing is that I feel like I've built an identity with sassy Bender.

 

I rarely look at the name of the poster when I'm browsing the forum. All I really look at is the avatar so that is how I recognize people. I've had my avatar since I joined the original BD-forum about a month before I switched over to this place. I do sometimes feel that I can't change the avatar now as it has become part of my identity. Good thing I don't want to either. <:

I feel the same way. I'm thinking of changing mine anyway, though: I chose my name + picture just randomly because I made my original BD account just to ask ONE question.

Oddly enough, I don't have much trouble keeping up with it wihen other people change their avatars: I usually look at avatars rather than names, but that makes it really easy to spot new avatars. I do a double-take, read the name, and reassociate it with the new avatar. I think the only thing that would really mess me up is if two people switched avatars, haha

 

I'll be getting a new avatar from Misskin soon, as long as you recognize my colours and general shape you'll have no trouble spotting me

 

I remember the first time I changed my avatar, people didn't realize it was me at first XD (idk if anyone remembers/knows but I was using Natascha for my avatar for a long time) Now I have pictures of my fursona so I prefer to use them.

 

If this site supported animated avatars, I'd go back to changing mine every week.

Since it doesn't, I change it whenever I get tired of my current one.

 

I don't think I'd ever change my avatar because I just love Sakamoto-san to death. <3

 

I never really feel the urge to change mine. -shrugs-

I change mine on FA, but only when someone is nice enough to gift me with one

Well, I tried resizing it and such, but I guess that these forums don't support animated .gifs as avatars yet. :c

I changed mine a little while ago because reasons. But it just changed from Fluttershy's ass to the back of Fluttershy's head. Not a big difference imo. If I do change it, it will be to Fluttershy wearing a santa hat.

I'd say so. It surprised me the first time I saw you change your avatar but I got used to you changing it easily. I actually read that before I looked at your name and thought "except Grimm" XD
