With the release of the 3rd and possibly final game of Five Nights at Freddy's, it seems everything...especially the theories..have been put to rest. But have they? If you don't wish to have spoilers for FNAF3, especially if you like to play the games, then please leave now so I don't ruin anything for you. the rest of you may carry on. READY? Here's how all the games tie together. FNAF2 came before FNAF, with FNAF3 being 30 years after FNAF. In the third game, we learn that Spring Trap (the rotten-looking animatronic) was Purple Guy, who is the murderer. Phone Guy, in some old tapes salvaged from what is presumably the setting of FNAF, refers to the animatronic as "Spring Bonnie". This is probably due to the fact the suit has 'spring locks', which hold the endoskeleton in place. If that is the case, we can then assume Golden Freddy was referred to as Spring Freddy, and these were labeled by Phone Guy as the 'classic' suits. Which brings me to Golden Freddy. Why does he look so limp? Phone Guy mentions in Nigh 4 or 5 (probably 4) of FNAF3 that the suits are to no longer be worn or touched, concerning a "previous incident" at a separate location. Meaning that whoever wore the Freddy suit died. We know that Purple Guy wasn't using Golden Freddy, as he is shown to be inside Spring Trap, so we can assume an employee was the unfortunate victim. Golden Freddy makes no appearance in FNAF3, curiously. Phone Guy warns employees again to not mess with Spring Bonnie as it is not safe to wear and to deflect questions from customers concerning the "new" suits. These new suits might be the animationics shown in FNAF, before getting the Toy versions of FNAF2. There has to be a space of time between when the Spring Bonnie and Freddy suits were retired and FNAF2, because the suits to replace the classic ones were only temporary until new animatronics came in. There are still a few unanswered questions to the FNAF series. We still don't know who or what Shadow Bonnie is. In FNAF3, there is a paper doll of him in the office, as well as a mini game featuring him. We can rule him out as being the fifth child, as we know the Puppet is the fifth child. Please comment your theories below. Another thing to mention about the other animatronics in FNAF3: they're not really there. They are labeled as "Phantom" in the Animatronic section of the Extras of FNAF3. They appear to be scorched. Once you defeat Nightmare mode of FNAF3, the newspaper shows that the Freddy's Fright attraction was burned. Does that mean that FNAF3 is just the hallucination of an employee suffocating as he dies in the flames? Another thing to note is that although we see Mangle in this game, (s)he is not in the animatronic section of the Extras. Is it because (s)he doesn't really jumpscare you, or is (s)he not really there at all? Besides the unanswered questions, with FNAF3 we learn who the murderer is (although we still don't know if he was an employee or just a generally creepy dude, as his death scene suggests he either knows how to use the suit or he didn't and figured it would protect him from the spirits of the dead children), what happens to the spirits of the children, and the eventual end to the Freddy Fazbear's Pizza mystery. Overall, the series was interesting, and maybe Scott will eventually explain the mysteries to the unsolved aforementioned. Comment any therioes you may have, and whether or not you think Scott will make another FNAF game.
