Are you director of 3 companies and responsible for ~150 other peoples jobs? 150 people who you know personally, their families and their kids? I am not some multinational faceless corporation, the guys who work for me helped build the companies form the ground up along side me, I owe it to them to keep them in a job. It's a perfectly valid excuse when the possible new tariffs would make us immediately nonviable to the competition from china and other such countries.
People currently buy our products because it has "British quality" at a minor price increase (which they are willing to pay), if these tariffs land, the bottom line is people will go elsewhere because that quality and relationship does not extend past the huge bump in price that would follow.
