The Video Game Thread

Oh, now I'm a jealous boy.
I still have my Gamecube but there's something wrong with either the discs of some of the games or the GC. Some games just won't read when in the console. Some games works just fine and others not at all. My Metroid Games is in the latter category. I'm sad. ):

Dolphin is a GC/Wii Emulator. You can grab a GC to PC USB adapter for under $20 so you can play on your PC with a GC controller (there are multi adapters that have like GC/XB/PS in the same price range).

Good old game cube. But still love the Dreamcast for Skies of Arcadia and Ecco.

 

My boyfriend and I play gamecube games on my Wii all the time. We've been playing Lord of The Rings: The Third Age lately, it's a co-op turn-based battle game a la final fantasy.

Have PC, games are ok but modding them is awesome. No game out of the box will ever beat something modded to the moon by its fan community.

 

I actually prefer vanilla games over modded ones on PC. Mods can be fun and add gameplay, but I always prefer the developer's idea of how the game was intended to be played.

 

Yeah. But for complex games, like Skyrim... Look how many unofficial patches there are. Sometimes devs just miss bugs, even by extensive testing. And then mods are able to fix that Or, devs are lazy and use bad meshes for example, take a look at SMIM. Some of those improved meshes are just improvements, but many of them are fixes for devs' laziness or just not testing the game.

 

None of the games I play have mods that I'm aware of.

 

I want to play Destiny. But I wanna play it with the best graphics which means a new console. (T ^ T)

 

In my opinion, mods that fix bugs aren't mods, they are unofficial patches to fix what is already broken. A mod modifies gameplay beyond what was originally intended. Maybe a slight distinction, but one I hold to. And I have over 800 hours of Skyrim in (no mods at all, not even the patches).

 

So, umm... Anyone play Pokemon X/Y? Cause I have a spare code for a megastone for Haracross (X)/Pinsir(Y). What should I do with it?

I should also note, it is region locked to North America.

 

Is that still going on? If not, I'd take the one for X

I wan't to try to do a/some lets-play(s).. But I have absolutely no idea where to start, and what would be fun to do/watch. I'm kinda wanting to do a minecraft one, but also feel like those are a thirteen in a dozen by now. :/

Maybe I'll have to take a look at my Steam-library and make a list what's fun/easy to commentate on. :O

As far as if Gamestop is still giving codes for megastones, I don't know.
