FA doesn't even pretend to be a professional company anymore

Oh I'm very well aware of this. The only thing that I think is worse is how many users pretend they are one.

I understand all to well the predicament of "FurAffinity is where the commissioners are at, FurAffinity is where the artists are at" as to why the majority of the furry community goes there, for either art if they're a customer, or income/publicity if they're an artist. But if several of the high popularity artists (even if they aren't high caliber, they just need people chasing them like Mikarimorph) would just get up and leave, FA would finally start to see a proper exodus to a better site.

I've heard speculation from a few that Dragoneer bribes or blackmails the more hyped artists to stay on FA, as a safeguard against loosing too many users over his/IMVU's/the site's bullshit.....and you know what? As conspiracy theorist as that sounds, I can actually humor it knowing the kind of person he is.

Good luck Jazzi! Just make sure there's no commissioning going on, Toby's already expressed his desires for people to not go looking to make money off of his work.

 

So I'm thinking I may start using Inkbunny if FA staff is butthurt enough to ban a nobody like me for speaking out. Based on giving it a trial run, my reasons are:

1. The site supports tag blacklisting, which as someone who got their start in furry on e621.net, it's a feature I use extensively where it's offered. This means that, while Inkbunny is loathed by large segments of the community, especially many FA users, for allowing cub art (at the expense of prohibiting sexual content containing humanoids), I don't have to see a lick of it since I've noticed people actually tag worth a damn there. This also means I don't have to see certain other things that I've regretfully found myself unwatching artists for on FA when I otherwise admire their art. Artists can draw what they draw, and I can see what I want to see and none of what I don't want to see, a Win-Win to me. FA is the only furry art site I've tried out that lacks this.
   
2. From digging around, and from a bit of personal experience when testing the waters with the support ticket system, the staff there at least try to be respectable people. Professional, friendly, from what I've seen. Can't say the same for FA.
3. It's definitely active. Weasyl is another option for me, but seems to be the most quiet site of the ones I've tried (I've not checked SoFurry, and while I am testing FurryNetwork, I'm wary of it due to being Varka's attempt at making an art site, and quite possibly riding on the hype of Bad Dragon/E621/Dragonfruit/F-List since he owns all of those...)

 

These past several days have been a complete shitfest but thankfully we're practically all moved in to the new house.
I'm sore in ways I didn't know I could be...

I feel sad that soonish my temp job will be finishing. I enjoy it there so much and I have been pretty well mentally and physically. I haven't needed to sleep much and never out of energy like I was before. At this new place I'm up and raring to go no matter how little sleep I've had. I'm actually happy, not the kind of happy mask to make others around me comfortable but actually generally HAPPY! I've noticed I don't get snippy or annoyed easily either like I was before.
I actually physically and mentally dread going to my original place after experiencing this new place. Though sadly I don't think they'll be a place for me after this temp term is over. Cause jobs are hard to come by after Christmas and it's all up to head office to allow them to give me a place no matter how well I work or fit in.

 

if I ever have kids I'm giving them a tosater oven instead of an easy bake and teaching them about common sense and safety. ran into another kid ("kid" as in 23 year old whose parents never let them use anything but a microwave and now they are life skill defficient as fuck because of it) that doesn't know how to do anything to cook.

also toaster ovens are awesome workshop tools too, you can use them to temper hardened metals, heat up thermoplastics, nuke a burrito, or heat up wood for an oil treatment so it penetrates all the way into the grain

 

Toaster ovens are the bomb if you treat them well.
