What Is On Your Mind?

Man oh man I had quite a wonderful day today!
Got to get off work a good 2.5 hours early and spent a lovely bonding moment with my mom, listening to her record collection and having a beer.
It's probably one one of the few rare moments where my mom and I have both felt relaxed and happy, sharing smiles and not caring about anything. It was a wonderful time!
Don't get me wrong, my mom and I are really close (mostly because we're all we have when it comes to family), it's just that we've been through a lot over the past couple of years and it's not often that we have these kinds of connecting moments.

 

Reminds me of good memories of my Aunt , she died of brain cancer a few years ago, but I don't remember the decade of her decline or even seeing her raise her son, I remember sitting on the deck at my cottage with her and my grandmother while they drank Smirnoff and cackled. Those moments are really special and worth holding on to.

Sometimes I wish we had more users but other times I can't think of what might bring them in. I could try and advertise on my tumblr I guess.....

 

I have to admit, we're pretty welcoming as a group and stuff... But most of the people who were active here either don't see the reason to post anything anymore (because honestly, it's more or less about 5 threads that get any posts at all), or have moved on to Skype/Telegram groups. Which are basically the forums but in live version when it comes to the primary function - keeping people together, especially Telegram one with all the fancy features Telegram offers. Forums have their own pros and cons of course, but I just think most of the users prefer it the other, live way.

I personally just lurk lately, but nothing really caught my attention enough to post more. I won't really leave though, at least I don't think so. Just lurk.

 

I'd probably post less if I wasn't stuck at work all day.

 

No rush. I'm kinda happy with the small close knit group.

(And not to kink-shame, but maybe we don't want fart guy showing up.)

 

I need to save up to buy or try making a decent one.

I'd post more if not for my attention span and motivational cycles.

Main pro of a forum over the chat group is longevity and searchability of information, and the fact that whenever the time of day or day of week comes around when users are most active, it's not as much of a constant flood of messages that one feels they can't keep up with it or speak their mind in it. A number of users have left the Skype and Telegram chats specifically because they're TOO fast/active at times. That said as far as I know, a couple of them also aren't on here because they said they're just not forum people.

That said, the chat groups are also a fair bit more casual and informal, which can be both a good and a bad thing at times since it's a bit trickier to manage when headbutting happens.

Yeah pretty much this.

 

I mean technically it's at the top of my blog already and always has been there. And it's not like we'd get an influx of people looking to talk to me, I already have kik for that, I'd be suggesting as a community for cool, funny, sexual people happy to share and chat.

After a three and a half hour drive, another hour and a half standing in line to pick up a ticket, I'm finally in for MegaCon.

This better damn well be worth it.

MegaCon was alright.

I didn't think my Mister Diddlez cosplay would get much recognition, but I was very wrong. I think I was asked for a picture every five minutes while walking around. Pretty cold in there though. I hope some of the pictures I was in gets posted on their page or website.
