I've ended up carrying a knife with me to work. Had been sent to another store (oddly enough the one I ended up getting transferred to as management, and the one that I gleefully tore down when they closed it) for a few days, and one of the workers was following me around. Gave me some crap while I was doing my work about how I was too quiet and would "get myself in trouble that way..." while leering at me. Come to think of it, he walked back in once while I was a manager and handed me an application. Took it to the office, told the store manager, we threw it out...
But yeah, flip out knife thing. We have a law here about pocket knives and such not being longer than 3", so it's...skirting very close to that limit.


I have finally come across the problem with my S2. Knew it would happen. Electronic things fail around me...think it's just the worst luck. It has taken to restarting itself frequently after/while texting, taking a photo, whenever the power button is pressed, if I look at it funny - this isn't uncommon. I have very little patience for this garbage, and a clean and reset haven't helped. Backing up my files and contacts now.
It was an in-between device anyhow. They ran out of their stock of Galaxy S Epics (slide out keyboard, beautiful thing) and all software updates were killing its extremely limited storage and processing ability, so when I dropped mine and it busted I didn't really have a choice but to take the S2 as a replacement. Am able to upgrade now though.

 

on the topic of self defense things, make sure whatever you're carrying isn't illegal where you live. even if shit goes down and you use it to defend yourself you are still liable for charges of using, transporting, or carrying a deadly and restricted weapon. luckily Arizona is a redneck state that allows anything with a sharp edge on it, but other places are not. cold steel sells some smaller push daggers that are acceptable under weapons laws in a few places and they even have a single edged one for places that ban dual edged blades. a push dagger is good for people with little to no fighting experience or upper body strength because you just barely have to punch and it can go through ribs, which brings up the next issue, justified use of deadly force. if they actually pose a threat to your life, depending on certain laws you can kill them. if they just threaten your safety but not your life, you run into issues of justifiable non-deadly force. a kubaton is a good easy to use blunt self defense weapon that gets past many laws and can be a real life saver

however, I find the best way to avoid needing any of these things is to AVOID SITUATIONS THAT CAUSE YOU TO PUT YOURSELF AT ELEVATED RISK, meaning don't get shitfaced drunk in public, don't walk home alone in the dark, don't go off with random strangers, and most of all avoid people that are likely to want to hurt you. the best way to prevent trouble is to avoid it

 

Its mostly because I don't want to associate with said coworker after work and he is just kinda pushy wanting a relationship. Idk why I kissed him tbh I was super tired on the night we walked back and I wasn'tlike concerned for my ssafety. I'm still not but I don't want to risk it either way.

 

um... maybe he thinks you want a relationship because you kissed him? and maybe he thinks you're playing hard to get or something? don't kiss if you don't mean it, or make sure people understand it doesn't mean anything, it saves awkwardness for both parties later on

 

I did tell him 3 times I wasn't ready for a relationship. When he asked me the night in question if I wanted to make it official I said no. So I made it very clear I wasn't ready despite the kiss. To just be friends but I don't even want that as it is just awkward. I just want to avoid him.
